im 16 into cars and know my fair share about engines but am new to rotary so i just wanted to know what street port is exactly and what you guys think of this buy

the guy had this listed for 3 grand i got him down to 2200. tell me what you guys think.

1988 Mazda rx7 vert
112xxx miles
rebuilt motor with small street port at 95 xxx miles
new white pearl paint job- 1 yr old
17 in. white konig traffic wheels, bfg rubber
car runs great.

 

Looks clean to me, If it were an S5 (89-91) I'd say it was a great buy, but its still pretty darn decent.

Not bad of a price, and its clean as long as it runs strong and is clean thats a good buy.

 

Carfax report and a compression test. Its a nice car, I remember seeing it in the fs section.

Get coolant and a compression test along with a 60k tune up and your good to go enjoying the summer XD

 

Looks pretty clean, I'd say it's a really good buy. Make sure you do a compression test when you get it. I'm basically in the same boat as you too, I'm 16 and have had my FC for 6 months now. It's alot of fun and you will learn alot from it.

BTW, A street port is when you grind open the intake ports a little larger to let in more air.

 

Well i picked up the car and it drives amazing less than 15,000miles on complete rebuild and port. the current paint is a color of a 2007 model lexus it has a sparkle to it. the intake is old so im picking up a new one along with a full engine detail at a import autoshop not to far from were i live, so the engine will be looking its best.(ill put up some pics of that soon. OHH and the pics were takin at night in a garage so they dont look to good but they give you the general idea of the car, they'll look better from here on out.

I love this car but it has a long way to go. I'd geuss for any rx7 lover the cleaning and mods never stop?
