Weld Racing wheels over FC brakes?

Has anyone fitted Weld AlumaStar or Magnum multi piece rims over your standard FC disks and calipers? Just wanting to know if the wheel centre bolts fowl on the calipers.

As long as the offset is right I don't see why it would be a problem, might want to check with the drag racing guys for better info.

Are you going to drag race only or is it street as well?

Limited street use as well. I know the wheels aren't 'intended' for street use but I'm willing to give anything a go once. I think it's going to be a case of the centres on the multi piece versions of the afore mentioned wheels are too small and they (and probably the bolts will fowl) on the large FC caliper body. This is quite a common here in Australia with the popular Simmons wheels.

I have installed weld wheels on a bunch of vechicle and rotors and drums have never been a problem but I would not use these wheels on the streets. The bend extremly easy due to the light weight and I would have to guess if your using a weld, your running a 15. That isnt much side wall at all. I would run at least a 70s series if I wete running welds but thats just me.

Thanks for the advice. It is a concern using the 1-piece fronts on the street particularly when warnings are glaringly engraved on the rim itself! Haha.

I would consider the Weld Draglites as they are intended for street use. The trouble is I would need the 15x4 2.5" BS and they don't offer them in 4-stud pattern. Even then I'm not sure they would clear the calipers but I have filed out a disk/calipers dimension chart from Work Wheels that I can send to people.

Any other suggestions? I want a drag inspired rim combo for my diminutive Mazda 1300 that must clear FC front brakes and is available in 4-stud. I hope people don't mind me posting in this section but obviously the front brake issue can still relate to Second Gen RX7 owners.

I'm pretty sure you will have to convert to 5 lug

Weld 15x3.5

Summit fast five 15x4

Four lug fcs have a front wheel drive offset so rwd wheels will not fit, I fought this myself.
