I'm just stirring the pot since it seems silly to exclude any 2nd gens (or any Rx-7) from this meet as it gets off the ground. I'm sure anyone who doesn't love or isn't interested in the rotary motor will get sick of a rotor centric meet and weed themselves out anyway.

BUT, just don't tell me about how great your gas mileage is, how much more reliable your car is, or your smooth powerband

Yea I wouldn't mind seeing a v8 or two there if it means a bigger turnout. Plus, by banishing all the piston guys we wouldnt get to see the less common swaps like ka24s and 1jzs and all that stuff.

What if I don't own an RX-7 yet , but I'm interested in getting one... can I come and check out the meet to see the cars and meet the local owners?
Zell - I know this is your meet, but I've run a few myself and to get this thing off the ground you really need to include any interested car guy and let people bring their non-Rx7 friends too. It really does get boring after a few weeks if everyone brings the same cars over and over again. I say focus on getting die hard 2nd gen fans to come to this meet and shoot the ****.. but if a 240sx or miata guy shows up, welcome him in and show him the way of the rotary. He may end up dumping his pistons for a little more exotic power plant.

If we open this up to non-rotary guys, we'd have a lot more participants. I have a couple people I would bring.
You just have to be mindful of who you invite, and make sure they are not the type of person to cause a scene, or make excessive noise. KEEP IT CLASSY.
We may be looking for a chance to meet other rx7 owners, who can help each other out and turn a few wrenches. But at the same time, you never know who'll you will meet, and who'll be willing to help you out.
After all, some of my best friends are Nissan owners and they've been a life saver when I needed an extra set of hands.
