Update: 1st year in the books
Summer in Vermont has essentially ended and not long from now the RX7 will be back in storage. After years of wanting a rotary powered car I got this car last fall. When I fist got the car it went straight into storage so this Spring/Summer was the first season I was able to drive the car. I am glad to say that I got everything done this year that I wanted to.
Here's how the car sat when I got it.
You cannot see in these pictures (because I intentionally took them so it wasn't pictured) but there is window tint on all the windows that was peeling and discolored. So I got to work and got my list of mods done that I wanted to do this year. This included wheels, tires, coilovers, and new tint. Along with these items I tested compression, gave the car fresh fluids, new plugs and wires, and new pads and (brake) rotors. I also put Mazdatrix shifter bushings in. When I took the shifter out there were ZERO bushings left/installed, needless to say with new bushings it not only felt 100x better but my shifter no longer flopped side to side while driving.
Here is how the car sits now:
I have since removed the front plate. I have VERY happy with the way the car is coming. It's still a work in progress but it'll get more attention next year. I had ZERO mechanical issues with the car all season. It always starts strong, stays cool, and drives great thanks to the BC Racing coilovers and new brakes. Next year my list includes a big turbo upgrade (and supporting mods), and full exhaust.
Thanks for looking! Feedback is always welcome!
