well, if you ever autocross or track your car, sometimes the ftp's like to fall out. so, as a regulation (or rule?) people put tape on anything that could fall out or shatter in case of a collision.
plus, some people just like to be cool like that
youll also see alot of people tape off with painters tape any area around the wheel well or front bumper that can do damage to the paint, see picture #2,4,6

peace

I think it's so if they get hit with a rock and it shatters it won't spill sharp bits of stuff on the track. Sometimes they cover the whole lense and i think that is to prevent damage to the light.

Would love to see their oil cooler setup!!!

Might be an illusion, but I *think* there's an oil cooler on each side:

TitaniumTT did his custom dual setup; however he is not using the fiberglass front bumper (still a baddass setup). In my perfect world, a dual oil cooler system MUST use the fiberglass bumper.

now when you say fiberglass, are you just referring to an aftermarket bumper with bigger side ducts or is there some physical property of fiberglass as a material that makes it the perfect fascia for oil cooling?

When I say fiberglass, I am talking about the OEM bumper bar. If you remove the OEM bumper cover, you will see a heavy, thick fiberglass bar\bumper mounted to the chassis.
