Thumbs up Sunday on Dogget!

Hey guys,

Got the chance to get out and cruise this past Sunday on one of my favorite runs w/ some friends. Little bit of snow on the sides of the road which was neat. I recently sold my Nikon D80 body and using pretty much whatever I can right now to get some pictures. I used my sister's Nikon Coolpix point and shoot for these and the quality is very different from my D80. I will admit it was fun just pointing and snapping all day. lol.

I'll be back under the helm of a DSLR w/ all my lenses after Christmas. Thinking of a D90 and that's probably what I'll go with.

-Allen

1. The 1st hairpin I always stop at and grab pics from.

2. Lots of switchbacks, chicanes, and banked turns later and down the other side of the mountain. A pull off that I've always liked to stop @ and grab some more snaps.

3. Made our way into Hot Springs, NC to stretch our legs.

4. Back on Hwy 209 after leaving Hot Springs.

5. Friend Jamin's 10th Anniversary and myself on the side of Hwy 209.

6. Headed back up and over Dogget Mountain.

7. Finally at the end... Wish there was more light. The point and shoot really just can't flex out in low light like this. I wish I had my D80. I would've nailed it. haha. No biggy tho. I had a blast.

Pics aren't as high quality but the subject and back ground are still awesome.

Can't go wrong with a D90 for the price, I love mine. Kind of want to upgrade to a D300s, for the metal body, less useless auto settings, and video auto focus even though I don't shoot video much.

Good luck with what ever you get, I'm sure the pics will be great.
