Sideways into Curb

I recently picked up an '87 T2, with nice Chevy LT-1. After spending hours shining up the car, and putting about half a bottle of tire shine on bald tires🙉, I went to my buddies to show him the car. When I left, not being smart, I got on the gas hard and slid sideways into curb on driver side. Afterwards, the camber was way jacked, top leaning out. When I pulled of wheel, the lower trailing arm was bent up near subframe connection. Now I need to figure if my control arm is bent also, and replace them. Any suggestions on replacement upgrades? Or what else to check? Thanks

lol- I wish I could get an FD, but I have common sense and refuse to pay the absurd prices asked. And Chevy makes an awesome motor with gobs of power...FC's are affordable & offers plenty of room to improve.

You can see the warp in the bar and the angle of the hub

The sway bar was pushed over toward passenger side - you can see where the dirt is - about 1/2 inch or so

More pix of damage done: I have to wonder what all was bent and out of shape in rear. Passenger side is ok, but the driver side I'm thinking control arm and linkage.

I have bent a few lateral links in my day, pull it off and it is likely that your trailing arm will pop back to where its supposed to be. If not, time to replace it all

Yeah, I think. I'm new to these cars, so I'm going to have to pull parts off and see where I'm at. Totally sucks, cause I had the car about two weeks - lol - I'm a goofball

Ok- I'm going to have to try to pull it of this weekend. I hope the arm is not screwed. I'm just glad the frame wasn't tweaked

ya that lateral link is gone. Look for a fc in the junkyards around ya and just find a link and whatever else you need. The control arm looks like it took it out on your link LOL it is a pretty beefy piece but even if you need to replace it used ones on ebay cost nothing.

Yeah. That's the bad part. Very few of any parts up here. So far, my only hope is buying online from sites. I wanted to upgrade bushing and parts in rear anyway, now this just made it mandatory. Thanks again

Pulled the trailing arm linkage off and the bend was more severe than first thought...word of advice to anyone doing this, take off the sway bar linkage before you start cause the lower bolt is in the way😰

3,000 lbs pushing a car sideways into a curb will do that.

i know there is a few adjustable lateral links made by other shops otherwise just find a used one.

This may have been a good reason of my slide too. The tires are more triangular that square.
