Hey, Last I heard, that's exactly what happened to my old 73 240z.
My vally trash redneck cousin took the hatch off & was using it to haul fuel drums to the airstrip.

i think it would mess up the aerodynamics too much to see significant benefit vs weight reduction.

plus the cost of fabricating a rear panel, and putting a weather-proof liner in the back.

could be done, would be unique, but seems impractical.

for awhile on my old S4 POS i was considering pulling off the doors, and rear hatch, and driving around lol. just for the fun of it.

I come from 4x4s... we hate doors there.

It's been done to FC's before plenty of times. You'll see it a lot with D1 guys. I've also seen a Supra with this set-up, and of course 240's. I actually think it's kinda cool and different. I'd do it jus for fun and to stand out. Who cares if people like it or not, but when you can drive like crazy, and they see that. They'll shut up.

There is already a company who produces these. I can't remember the site/company, but it didn't look very good.

I'm stoked

a FC, with the hatch removed, and the whole rear cut off, and a ford tailgate rigged on there, with big redneck welds.

a Ford v8, some super swampers, and exaust stacks that come through the roof are all I need now.

you guys have given me hope.........

I've seen a corvette truck. Front and back end was lie vette but stretched out and behind the seats the glass was 90 degrees from the roof into a bed and the tail gait was made out of the actual back of the vette too. It actually looked kinda good.
