Rotary--I'm Back... (Pics)
Hello all... i have been away from the rotary community for a while b/c I am in school and have been relaxing... However, my 03 Yamaha R1 got stolen 2 days ago and that almost made me go crazy... Instead, I just bought another rx7, painted it, and threw my Sexy Style Hood (that I bought and never used over a year ago) on it... I think it came out pretty good... Flat white w/ hood... I will be putting a 13BRE in it soon as I have already bought one and it should be here soon... Here is a pic of the rx7 w/ my friends 280Z... We painted them both outside... I dont think it came out too bad seeing how we only had a 1 hour Window for both cars b/c code enforcement were up our a**es...

Yea... We would have if we had enough time... But since we dont have a shop anymore, we had to paint the cars in a Walgreens parking lot... Yea... It was a little awkward dragging a compressor and a gravity feed gun out into a parking lot w/ people watching...
This is a pic of us after we came back from Walgreens and are unloading all of our tools from the cars... If you look really hard, you can barely seen the compressor in the trunk of the 280z...

Yea... both cars came out pretty good in my opinion... We got all of the paint for free and only had to pay for supplies to prep the cars... The 280z took about a month to prep b/c we had to cut out all of the rust and replace it (it is a 76') and since the RX7 didnt have any dents or any major rust, it only took a day to prep... Since the pic, we cleaned the tires, put the front bumper back on the Nissan, put all of the badges on the cars, and installed hood pins for my hood...
I just did this as a way to sort of make myself feel better because my R1 just got stolen... This is a pic of it before I put on the changed the plastics and painted it "Triple Black..." This was my 230mph beast or "Viper killer"
Honestly, I think god (or whoever plans our lives) meant for this to happen b/c the day before my bike got stolen, my friend (the one in the yellow shirt above) called me and told me that he found an 86' base in perfectly running condition w/o "cancer" for $500... I told him no, but after my bike got stolen, I bought it and started prepping it for paint... Good thing I had spring break this week, otherwise I really wouldnt have had the time to do all of this... lol...
Thanks for the comments you guys and staring at the new 7 really makes me feel alot better about my whole situation...

Its a 6 cylinder but I dont know the name of the motor... Will ask my friend later... However, since I am going 13BRE, he was thinking about dropping one in the Z... I am still trying to convince him...

No we were away from the cars so nobody got affected by overspray... Plus, we ran the guns at 55psi so there wasnt too much pressure to produce alot of overspray and it wasnt really windy outside... We took all of this into consideration when we planned it... But, I wouldnt suggest anyone else try it b/c I hear that you can get "jailtime" for this if code enforcement catches you... Apparently there is a law about painting a car w/o a paint booth that I didnt know about...

UPDATE ON SCENARIO:
A little over a week ago (3/10 to be exact) someone stole my 03 R1... The very next day, the Sunrise Police dept wrote me a letter saying that they will never find the bike and that the case is going to go into an inactive state... However, Last night I got a call from them saying that someone in Miami just wrapped it around a palm tree--but since the cops didnt find his/her body so its considered a "hit and run..." So, I am going to drive down to Miami to look at it, but from what the cops said and the tow truck people are saying I am going to need a pickup truck and a bucket for all of the misc. pieces b/c its been totalled...
Will post pics after I look at it...
