CA registering 88 TII in California

I just purchased this car from out of state, I was wondering if anyone that has any knowledge about registering out of state cars can give me some advice and explain to me the registration process. So far, I have the red permit tag and still need to get it smogged. Do you think they'll check under the hood before they give me my plates? I'm mostly worried about them sending me to state ref. I have the stock intercooler back on, rats nest removal, 3" turbo inlet duct, and a GReddy power extreme exhaust. They look like cannons in the back. Any ideas?

how much did u pay for it? what was the tax ? you may have to pay the ca sales tax. but it seems like you already went to the DMV and got your temp permit.

they'll check under the hood at the smog shops be sure everything looks stock and works like a stock t2.
YOU need all your smog and emission related stuff! or else it WILL fail the visual inspection.

you can get away with the downpipe as long as you have your main cat hooked up to you air pump. that answers your exhaust question, be sure to keep your rev's low around cops. you don't want to attract any attention. it helps to have the stock exhuast handly and emission n parts related to that just incase you get pulled over and get a ref ticket. unless you can pay the ticket.

Hey i have 2 ref tickets for not having plates on my FC! bring back a junkyard car isn't easy if you don't have a job to buy a main cat and have it welded in.
local PD has been up and around looking for the murders , trying to stop the violence. iono if there looking for modded cars but there have been some warm nights lately in the bay.

check out www.barotary.com too its one of the local rx7 and rotary related clubs

So it WILL fail the visual inspection at the dmv? Can't I get my smog under tabled? My main concern is just getting the license plates. Also, I already have the red permit tag, will they do a visual inspection at the dmv before they fully register my car?

they wont do a visual inspection @ the DMV. As far as the smog is concerned, all they visually check for is the EGR valve and a main cat. As long as you have a stock intake setup/airbox, EGR, a catalytic converter and the split air pipe connected, you should be good to go.

I have stock parts for sale if you need them. I have the rats nest, turbo inlet duct, stock BOV...amongst other ****. PM me if you need anything.

Is it possible to find someone willing to under table it? Or is it so blatant to the dmv that no one would even consider it?
