I had a MOMO race steering wheel. It was nice as hell but i kept hitting my knees on it every time i would press the clutch or brake pedals. Ended up selling it to a friend and put the stock one back in til I get a nice deep dish one. Probably gunna get a Nardi

Anyone have a Re Amemiya or similar stylized wheel with a deformed bottom part? I'd like the added leg room but, wonder how weird it is to steer without a perfect circle.

i have a D-shaped wheel very similar to that and i'm actually not a fan of it. i find my hand 'falls' off the wheel when i'm steering one-handed (parking lot etc). probably something you can get used to, but i want to build my car to suit me and not change my habits to suit the car

i might try a suede nardi deep corn next. looks simple and nice and brings the wheel closer to you without having to put a hub extension or quick release on

My favorite are still the RE Amemiya wheels

The feel is the best IMO and steering isn't bad once you get used it.

This Grant GT came on my 88 when I bought it. I'm happy with it other than the fact that it's a bit small and with my height, 6'1, I can't see the top of the tach and speedo. Not really a huge problem it just kind of bothers me. Oh and it had the center cap emblem until my wife taught my 9 month old daughter how to beep the horn while I was under the hood and she somehow ripped it off....

Do you guys have trouble seeing all of your gauges with your aftermarket steering wheel? I bought a 320mm steering wheel before I realized my S5 model didn't have a steering wheel tilt. I was thinking of switching to something around 350mm with dish. Although I would prefer 330mm size. What do you guys suggest?

Of course, it's inevitable.
The stock wheel is 380mm and has an offset hub (the rim is not concentric with the center hole), no aftermarket wheel duplicates the stock config.
Add in the strange gauge layout and changing the wheel to something smaller...blocking the gauges is going to happen.

Good thing I can still see 6-8k RPMs. I realized you get pretty good at gauging the cars speed after driving awhile without being able to see all of it lol

I prefer the stock steering wheel over aftermarket as far as comfort and form is concerned, but I also like aftermarkets that are quick release for peace of mind from ******* car thieves.

Fuel cut off switch works well against car thieves. As for comfort, it's preference but I find the stock wheel way to big and sometimes get in the way around the knee/thigh area.

You must be a bit taller than me lol. Me personally, I like the big wheel.....it makes it easier to turn as I have no power steering. I do like the shape of the RE Amemiya wheels though. No power steering makes for both hands on the wheel every time I make sharp turns....so the D shape would actually be a benefit for better control of the wheel.
