For a guy that tracks his car regular, I am impressed by your underbody Rob. However... Mine is cleaner :P No access to a lift for pics for another month to prove it though. So relish in your glory haha. Got to get on that fresh under coat game now son!!!

In hindshight I should have done all the floor boards while everything was apart. It didnt look as bad until everything else looked so much better, but I already spoke to my friend about putting the car in his lift a few days to clean it up some more
I really did it because the tank was out of the car and I was going to "restore" it. I figure if I ended up with a different fuel system later on I would shoot myself for not doing it while it was out.
I never had faith in the factory drain plug anytime I used it I had that sick feeling it would not seal next time I needed it to so I welded that over and figured I can use the sump to drain the tank if need be.
Think he only charged me like $100 to do it but he insisted it be boiled out before I brought it to him so a radiator shop did that for me and torched all the old coating from it- messy nasty job. Then sent it out for powdercoat. New mazda pad isolators as well but at least those were cheap
