I dont track my car, **** I barely get to even drive it anymore its always in pieces lol

In hindshight I should have done all the floor boards while everything was apart. It didnt look as bad until everything else looked so much better, but I already spoke to my friend about putting the car in his lift a few days to clean it up some more

competition engineering sump. Local welder/chassis guy did it.
I really did it because the tank was out of the car and I was going to "restore" it. I figure if I ended up with a different fuel system later on I would shoot myself for not doing it while it was out.
I never had faith in the factory drain plug anytime I used it I had that sick feeling it would not seal next time I needed it to so I welded that over and figured I can use the sump to drain the tank if need be.
Think he only charged me like $100 to do it but he insisted it be boiled out before I brought it to him so a radiator shop did that for me and torched all the old coating from it- messy nasty job. Then sent it out for powdercoat. New mazda pad isolators as well but at least those were cheap

Thanks for the info, I might be tackling this job in winter. I am positive that the weld job would cost me over $250 I still believe this is the way to go, external sump ftw

Thanks for the info
