now that i live in florida now, im looking to get my windows tinted, need help on deciding what % to get.

Personally, I think 35% on the side windows and 5% on the rear looks sexy.

 

im going 35% all around, i dont want it super dark, just want them to keep the sun out.

i had 20% on my acura TL, it was hard to see inside the car when putting your face up to it.

 

35% on the doors, 35% strip on the front, and 20% in the rear

 

17 all around

i ******* love having the hatch tinted, makes life so much easier during the day.
beware at night, its damned near impossible to see out of it.
its that way with any tinted glass

Any one have experience with ebay pre cut tints? Its like 25shipped for 2 side windows and rear,any %

 

I like 5% all the way around and i donno if i would trust ebay imo tint shops dont usually charge that much maybe around $120 depending on where u go n less if its under the table cuz less then 20-25% is illegal in most states

 

dont do ebay. go to a reputable tint shop, its really not that expensive. its the labor that youre paying for

they are crap and you might as well pay someone to put them on for you.. too many bubbles if not done correctly

 

Tint isn't very hard but it is a pain in the ***. Go to a shop, don't spend more than 100.

 

you aint getting a FC tinted around here for $100, not even a convertible
I know its cheaper in Florida so have it done at a shop, if you want to keep the cops
happy I always get away with 35% front and 20% rear. Doing them darker makes backing up and even sometimes turning difficult at night if there are no street lights there

Keeping the cops away is always a good thing, they will pull you over for something stupid like that when you might have something ELSE going on that you dont want to be hassled by cops

 

i jus got my rear removed / no tint and i freaking love it, the greenhouse is soo much nicer with the sunroof and windows open =)
of course tho my rear tint was all fccccked up

I have awesome purple bubbly tint in the hatch of my base . Gonna have to peel that off one day...

 

same, ill prolly go 35% all around, i wanna be able to see **** at night, i wouldnt even consider tints, if i was back in MA, but in FL its humid and sunny hot as ****.

I have 5% on the rear, had 10% on the doors, but took it off & put on 35%. I have noticed tint is never what they say it is when installed. Everytime I get pulled in the Spec V or the Speed6 the cops say it reads 12% I had 20% installed on both of them. Never had the 7 checked. Around here tint will run between $150 to $180. Well here's a pic.

Medium on the sides, dark in the rear. I don't know what percent it is, but it did not reduce my visibility at night out the hatch or the side windows.

 

rotordad- the factory windows have a slight tint to them already, so when you put 20% in it will read even lower

I have had every single vehicle I have ever owned tinted, 35% front, 20% rear.
Only time I got hassled for tint was by a dike cop who asked me to roll the windows up on my convertible when I was driving and doing nothing wrong in the middle of the day- but those are 20%

I had a lexus with like 15% and amazing I never got a ticket because you could into the car AT ALL

 

Good point about the factory tint. We don't get pulled that much, around once a year. LOL I never got pulled in our BMW it had 20% on the doors & 5% on the back.

 

I've got 15% all around on my Lincoln. Just got my first ticket about a week or so ago, kinda bummed about that. We'll see how long it takes for them to cite me again before I decide whether or not I want to change it to legal. The county boys don't seem to care, it was a State Trooper who got me. Dick.

On a somewhat related note, dark tint = afternoon road-head. I highly recommend it. You get what you pay for. So if you're down with a bubbly purple hack job then go the cheap route.

Tint on the windshield? That's really dumb. Must be fun getting chased by cops.
