Painted the front grill

So I haven't done anything to my Rx7 in quite a while (horray broke college student). But home for the summer and I wanted to change up the look, so I decided to black out the grill on the front bumper. Originally I was going to cut it out (still might), but the black kind of "deletes" it. Let me know what you think.

Before:

Bumper off:

Prepped (sanded and taped off):

Painted:

Finished:

Installed:

I plan to take some better pictures tomorrow, see how it looks in the daylight. I also what to get a lip so it'll accent the gap better, thinking S5 TII or Shine.

Maybe, but I really want a proper lip. I need to find a matching paint first.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad I did this. I think a lip will really set it off.

And I never knew about how it was supposed to look.

S4 the verticals had black molded ABS caps to make them black, S5 it was all black.

Nice job bringing it back to stock!

It looks so much better. I was S4 originally and I got S5 bumpers and had no idea they were supposed to be black in the center. Glad I did this.

Turned out really good! Glad to see it come to pass, and that you decided not to cut it out.

Actually, the vertical ribs were black via snap on covers on the S4's. Pull of the covers, factory paint color.
