open diff for TII, possibly?

Well I know TII's had all LSD's, but I also found out that TII diffs share axle stub sizes with the HC(88-91) 929. So I figured I would let those of you who didn't know, that it may be a way to keep the stronger TII axles and rear end but get a welded diff.

I know many may not be interested in this, but seeing as I'm looking to get back into a FC. And I am not happy with stock LSD's nor can I afford a 2way, I would be looking for something like this.

I read in the drifting section that a member asked if a 2-way and a welded diff were sort of the same. Is that true?

2-way locks on the gas, off the gas and in reverse. But I think it eases up through corners.

a welded never eases up, and you always spin both wheels.

A welded diff is NOT for turning, there is no "differential" action. 2-way = drift. 1.5way=road racing.

only brokeness people will compare a 2way lsd to a welded lmao.. i put a 2way lsd in my 240sx when i was ballin with cash.. my FC has a welded which i wanna swap out later once i get better financially. Welded somewhat in the essance that its locked feels like a 2way, but your car is techincally a single sided knife that can only do one thing, as opposed to a car with a real lsd which id say is a double sided knife that can do grip and drift imo.

I never compared a welded to a 2 way, and never would. 2way > welded any day, but most here are not ballers. And the stock LSD does not lock hard enough.

But anyone wanting to slide a car, or straight line race would benefit from a welded. And the added strength of the TII parts.

If you don't want to read a thread about diffs, don't come in here. Its common sense.

not really true... many FD Drifters run 1.5way for higher entry speeds -also it helps keep the car more "recoverable" if you start to go around. For some cars, yes go 2 way -but me thinks 1.5>2way for the FC

Welded diffs suck.

I run a 1.5 way OS Giken.
