Not as pretty as the one's above, but it's still a fresh rebuild. Stock motor/ports. All new Mazda Apex seals, o-rings, gaskets, springs (except for Pineapple racing HD water seal kit).
Went more for function over form on this one. Hey, still works! And I don't have to worry about it getting dirty either.. LOL. https://img504.imageshack.us/img504/...3bmotorba6.jpg |

I rebuilt this s5 non turbo motor (Street port, polish aluminum and powdercoated everything else). I sold it for $1,800.

here's a pic of my motor when it blew:
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...y/Image002.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...y/Image004.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...Image006-1.jpg here is the rebuilt motor: http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...y/Image011.jpg its been rebuilt in march due to a bad apex seal in the rear rotor. i used atkins rebuild kit and it's been running strong since march. heres some pics of the other motor i'm working on: http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...oy/Testfit.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...ntedmotor5.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...intedmotor.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...y/Image026.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...y/Image021.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f2...y/Image016.jpg |
So I noticed on the picture of the blown motor you have a diffusor in one of the housings and you don't in the other. You are also using the 6 port T2 intake. I wanted to do that but I just couldn't get ahold of one.
|
Here's the rest of the motor (in the kid's car I sold it to).
I lost track after I spent 50 hours of polishing and I still had everything else to do! :wallbash: And yes I do make fun of him for the K&N filter where the oil cap is supposed to go. http://a273.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...c95aa8f270.jpg |

no- both housings on the blown motor had diffusers in them. there was alot of soot on the rear rotor housing diffuser. as for the lim - it's just a regular tII lim that i ported to fit the 6 ports. |

Hmmm, just noticed that I have poor photographic skills! Either way, stock S4 13bt fresh from a rebuild. On the home made ghetto crate and a shot of it sitting in the car! W00T! Crappy pics!

front porch rebuild! looks way better in the car. BNR 3 |
nice setups guys! Any dyno numbers yet for yall? Still gotta get mine running, hopefully this weekend I'll get mine at least idling. We will see.
hey slammedblk7 you still have the 3" exhaust on that thing? I had to switch to a 4" after I saw how big the inlet of the turbo was and how small the 3" exhaust looked compared to it, lol. |
