not a good sign...
since its been pretty nice out... little rain here and there... i figured id get some work done in the garage/do some oil changes/play with the rx7. i finished up the oil changes and decided to try and put the 7 up on the ramps and take a look under the engine, maybe also change its oil (its been years ). brought the car up the the ramps, gave it... the car made it half way up the ramp and stopped and the engine bogged... wtf i thought...
backed down to try it again... this time with a little head start... same result...
so now on top of a failing engine... looks like my clutch is also on its way out.

i didnt mean for it to be confusing... just frustrated with the car atm...
i would love to tear the motor down and rebuild it, but my kid is due next month and were focusing on paying off some bills. i think what ill do this summer is just focus on getting the engine out and ripping it down to see how bad the internals really are and if shes really rebuild worthy.

i would prefer it be a weekend/nice day car. not something i have to drive in the rain, or put a ton of miles on.
so did you figure out what is wrong with your car yet? did you lose compression? because it could be alot of other stuff too... usually you dont just lose compression just like that.

it has had a stuck side seal on the rear rotor for quite a while (well.. since i bought the car). the seal is either destroyed or carbon locked... both rotors tested on the very low end of the compression numbers... theres a bunch of other things i need to look into... like vacuum lines and such... im hoping that the next day i do have off to remove the non working A/c and cold start system... probably dig a bit deeper into what the problem is at that time.
there are some other small issues that need to be resolved... but no use in listing those.
edit: maybe ill try making a short video and post it up of her running...

we have no pick n pulls around here, most of our junkyards suck and charge way too much for parts that you cant pull yourself and they have no idea what condition things are in.
my school bought an old 305 camaro motor with a tag on it that said "runs great" well when we got it into the classroom and pulled it apart everything was wayyyy out of spec.
