Noob Intro and Quick Few Questions

Noob Intro and Quick Few Questions

First off, I am not new to cars by any means; I’ve owned a few and worked on many. I am new to rotaries, I’ve always liked the FC body style it looks awesome, recently though I started looking in depth at them. I have no idea why but the more I look the more I like them I’m sure this is the Rotary Bug everybody talks about. A friend, who just bought a FB, likened it to “finding the clitoris” once you find it you just want more. I currently own 2 Hondas, and am currently planning on buying a FC after I finish one of them. I AutoX a lot and plan on hitting the Road Course this year as well. I am not your typical Honda Boyracer. I cannot stand most Honda owners they give not only Hondas a bad name but anybody who likes cars. I've also done quite a bit of body work and paint. I've been lurking for about 3 weeks now, and have read way too much, lol. Lots of good info around here answered pretty much every question I have had. I’ve still got 3 questions though.

First besides taillights, the rub strips/side molding, what exterior differences are there in S4 and S5's. I know Honda was famous for changing minor things midway through the generation, removing screws, changing lights ECT. I’ve seen that people swap to the S5 bumpers but I can’t tell the difference in just random pictures.

Second, the Flash To Pass lights. I know the J-spec ones have 194 bulbs and are dimly lit. But with the American ones, do the headlights flash through them when the headlights are not raised and you flip the high beams, this is what I assume but having never driven a FC I don’t know and I haven’t seen any explanations around.

Lastly, the S5 taillights, I found a picture earlier today, wish I saved it, but it was a dark colored S5 on the side of the road, and the turn signals were lit up in very defined circles, Is this a J-spec or other non American light or, is it the mod I saw earlier by opening them up and removing the diffuser, the DIY didn’t show the turn signals lit up so I couldn’t tell.

difference between s4 and s5 is front and rear bumpers, front fenders are very slightly different, tail lights, s5 had air bag and abs options, s5 has sliding seat belts, different compression ratio, intakes and turbo.

Yes the headlights shine through the ftps, No matter the position of the headlight(up or down or inbetween) the lights always shine foward thanks to the rotating bucket they sit in.

The s5 tail lights your talking about are custom made.

aren't the side mirrors different from S5 to S4 also?

You are correct, I also missed a couple things such as stero surround, shift ****, omp, 6port system, transmission crossmember, lsd and some other stuff.

Yea ive caught most of the important mechanical stuff from searching around here. Couldnt find the exterior stuff tho.
