new to the rotary scene
sup my names jet im new to rotary and imports I'm buying my first rx-7(86) in a couple days. any suggestions on what I suld do to it first I'm really into drifting so I'm wanting to set it up as a drift car, bug it also my daily driver.
welcome to the exclusive rxclub! we will have you hatting your FC in no time.
man did you just open a can worms, open ended questions dont go well on this forum. so for future reference make sure you use that search button. 1st bet is to get VERY familiar with the daily mechanics of the car. make sure you check EVERYTHING! start with a tune up. change your oil, plugs, check your fuel pump, belts all that stuff. get your self a copy of the FSM (factory service manual) you can find a pdf of it on this site somewhere and get the Haynes manual for it.
what kind of setup are you looking for? since its a daily driver as well you are gonna want to keep it reliable. im sure more ppl will chime in...
fellas? any care to do the honors?

i wanna set it up to drift. I had a 99 trans am and I use to powerslide it, until one of my buddies came over in his rx and took me for a spin. I jus been wanting to set up a street legal car that's also track ready!
Meh, I bought an n/a and just did a swap after a few years. Nothin wrong with working your way up to a turbo. Plus you'll be better if you first learn how to slide a car with no power, it will force you to use the momentum of the car to slide. Then by the time ur turbo, you should be able to handle it. Have fun, and don't break your ****! You'll be sad.
My advice- Get a good set of tires, do some suspension work to eliminate body roll, and throw in a lsd (if you don't already have one in there)

Yes, this guy will be buying a different car in no time, thanks 7 club.
Don't break your **** kid. Great advice. You don't want to drift in your daily driver. Also, you'll probably need to learn a lot more attention to detail if you want to own a nice rotary.
