NA open Diff to LSD Swap parts

I am about to buy a parts car with an LSD in it. I have an NA with an open diff and looking to put the LSD in it. I was wondering if someone could tell me what all part i need off the car to do the swap.
Thanks

Someone correct me but wouldn't it be easier to just drop the whole rear subframe and swap it rather than one piece at a time. Unless all you have to swap is the diff

Posted in the wrong section....

This is another one of those things that lead to an upgrade slippery slope.

If you can find one of the rare NA LSD's from a GTU's (not a GTU) it can be swapped in.

Some upgrade to the much stronger TII diff but this requires, at a minimum, a special drive shaft to mate it to an NA transmission. It also brings you 5 lug hubs and different axles. You then need the corresponding 5 lug hubs and vented brakes for the front and new wheels. If you want to use the TII drive shaft you need a TII trans, flywheel and starter......

Can get out of hand quick.

S4 GXL's also came with an LSD. It is a drop in affair going open NA->LSD NA. All you need is the complete differential.

Did some more research looks like the '88 GTU and GXL had the NA LSD.

correct. some gxl's had clutch type diffs.

first make sure the lsd diff is good. if it is then great, if not then have it rebuilt or do the beercan shim method.

after that, its just taking the old diff out and installing the new one. about a 4hour pita job that will go easier with a friends help.
