My vert with a new heart...and V-mount
OK. First update in a while... My TII motor blew the coolant seals and I had to get another motor. I decided to make an upgrade instead of just getting another TII motor. After a mild fiasco with the engine supplier, I present to you, my new 13B-RE.
I still have a few things left to do, including putting my 60-1 in, finishing the wire wrap, replacing that PS coupler, getting a new downpipe fabbed, new radiator hoses, etc. but here we go...
The RE swap started as a simple drop in. It quickly escalated by us saying, "while it's out, let's do this..." In short order, we cut out the stock radiator mounts, fabbed up brackets for the radiator, oil cooler and intercooler, rewrapped the wiring harness, made a new brake line, upgraded to a 929 master cylinder and booster, and powder coated a bunch of stuff.
So far, I'm pretty happy. I hope to do some tuning soon and looking at the coolant/intake temps. Hopefully, in the semi near future, I will have the car repainted and a new top installed.
Opinions welcome!

the blue would not have been my first choice, but its obviously very clean and pro looking.
But the couplers - they look like the ones I have on my sump pump in my basement- are those from Home Depot Racing? How about some blue couplers to match the powder?
Very jealous of the swap though, back when I was selling motors I could have bought cosmos for $800, I knew I should have taken one and stockpiled it

Rob,
Considering the quality of your builds, I appreciate the comments. As far as the couplers, the PS is from a Ford diesel. The other is just one I had lying around. New ones (probably blue) will be ordered once the new turbo is installed.
My girlfriend had a bit of a hand in the color choice. I wanted something that would pop a bit and I think we achieved that.

there is always a difference between some ill prepped and spray bombed pieces and something that was done with care- that makes the difference.
You could have made those things lime green and it would still look ****
Im still waiting to come across someone with v-mount and AC so I can pick their brains

SC is bringing some sick rx7's to the table.
Good job.
If you dont mind, care to shed some light on the 929 brake hardware upgrade?
is it straight bolt in? Advanced auto doesn't or CANT find any fc hydro parts anywhere and a new booster is like $400 or something crazy like that.
Not only that, i've rebuilt my calipers, sprayed them a beautiful fire engine red and that's good and fancy but i want PERFORMANCE.
You're obviously a no-bullshit-when-it-comes-to-my-car guy so yeah. Anything you can say about your setup, please do.
