My new FC

My new FC
Bought this car from a member on another forum in Texarkana, Texas. I was in desperate need for a car with a cleaner body and this one was definitely worth the drive.
The car is a 1986 base model with a solid as hell unibody. It has 82k miles and doesn't run due to electrical issues. The engine is fine and makes good compression, it just won't start. Hopefully I'll have it figured out by tomorrow (I have a few ideas floating around in my head). I got it close to starting a few times today, but no dice.
zomg! I has rockers and quarters now!! :P
zomg, ah haz twins
I'll get a few more pics after I wash it tomorrow.

thanks.
Ha, just keep looking, there are plenty out there. You just have to be diligent and search high and low. I think in the last year I've spent more time in the for sale sections of RX7club/RCC/nopistons/TeamFC3S than in any of the tech sections or lounges . It sucks looking for a clean car when you're broke, but good deals pop up ever so often.
And I know alot of you are thinking 'Its just a 4-lug S4 n/a...' But after what I went through with my other FC this is like heaven. All the nuts and bolts come off so easily, and I can look at the underbody/rockers/quarters without crying. I think anyone who hates on stock looking FCs should buy a car that was driven in multiple midwest winters and try to live with it for a year, you will gain a new outlook on cars altogether. It's terrible and saddening to see what salt and snow can do to a car, and you will learn to appreciate a stock car in nice shape.
My plans for this car are as follows:
-Most important at the moment: get it running
then,
- 5 lug swap from my other FC
- restore tails (or buy nicer ones for 3 pennies and a bag of skittles from someone switching to S5s )
- emissions delete (again... at least I'll be able to do it in like 20 minutes now )
- shifter bushings (these ones are shot)
- all new door and hatch seals, inner shift boots and ****
- possibly suspension bushings
- swap in the TII seats from my other FC, and some other minor interior pieces
then once I get some money rolling in:
- coilovers
- BBS RS
- Fix all the dings/dents/imperfections on the body and repaint stock color (I got the hookup on this, so I might be able to make it happen sooner than later)
- RB exhaust
when I get even more money
- TII swap
I might try to cram the TII swap in before the 2nd part... we'll see what happens. Something does need to be done about suspension though, I could go wheeling with this thing. It seems even higher then my other FC. It might just be an optical illusion caused by the smaller wheels and tires. Maybe I'll try to find a set of used RB springs or something until I can afford some coilovers.
Just for fun, my distant future plans that I've spent most of my free time fantasizing about:
[mild]
- BNR stage 3
- RTek
- supporting mods
[wild]
- Half-bridge 13BT
- GT35R
- Haltech
that's about it, maybe a 13B-RE some day. I love those.

Well I did a compression test today and found out that the motor is blown . 30 psi on the front rotor and 0 in the rear.
Really, I'm not even that mad about it. I was kind of pushing my luck hoping I'd be able to get a rust-free, straight chassis with a good motor for $500. Usually you'd pay that much for the shell alone, with no motor or trans even installed. So I guess it still worked out alright, I still have a clean body that I can feel comfortable building upon.
It's kind of a kick in the nuts though, I was hoping to drive it around for a while before I tore into it. Oh well, as soon as it stops raining, that bish is getting torn out and the engine bay is getting power washed (oddly, this car has one of the filthiest engine bays I've ever seen, doesn't really fit in with the rest of the car), and then we'll go from there
