I believe 1st gen, it's the blue cylindrical one with the pump mounted internally. IIRC they went to black on the 2nd gen one??

It's a nifty idea but I found it wasn't enough for real overclocking. The fins would get hot enough that it was heating the air around it. At one point I even had a fan blowing on it to help with the cooling.

Though I do remember seeing a guy in England who had modded about 5 of them to create one HUGE Reserator that stood about 5 ft high.

Look for me on Xtreme with the same forum name. I'm starting to branch out into more computer forums but I just don't have enough time for it all.

The Reserator was a deeply flawed design ( I ran one for about 6 months back in the Athlon/Opteron days)...it had excellent fin area to dissipate heat but should have been finned on the inside to absorb heat as well.
The only guy I know who made one really work lived in Finland and had his buried in snow outside his window.

My current chip, a Q9550 runs undervolted at 3.8 GHz and is so cool I almost ditched the waterloop...if I hadn't all the hardware sitting around, I'd just use a decent heatsink and call it a day.

During the warm part of the year I spend more time here and save the PC forums for the time when I can't (read: won't) work on my car.
I haven't touched my computer's hardware in over a year and don't feel the need to upgrade, so it's kind of boring...not much has really changed lately.
