ahh okey rotorhead!
[QOUTE]wow, great setups.. but you guys are starting to scare me... its like you cant tuck your front in with your current setups... but then again most of you have spacers[/QUOTE] Do you mean the front fender will hit the tire? My car is extremly stiff and with some more camber i hope it helps. Im also planning to get the car wider but dont know how... yet... |
i have suspension on my car, and its stiff, i have a lil bit of tire rub when i take corners hard. just cuz i have 18's doesn't mean i don't like to drive like i still have my stock 16's. tire rub isn't that bad, only under heavy cornering.
|
those srt rims looks fucking hot

thats why simply bending back the little lip on the fender will go a long way. cuz i've done most of what you just listed. lol... fun times

|
ricky show us a pic of what you got going on with your rims.. i'm still curious with those pulled fenders
|
I bought boostinmys5's (Justin's) black FC because I love owning cars that people hate. haha
Plus it was about time that I went to some drift events again and this was an easy way to get back into it. Oh, 18x10 +17 and 18x10 +/-0 http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20.../DSC036581.jpg And I believe that Justin's green car has had the stock wheel arch cut up higher and rewelded to the fenderwell. At least, that's usually how it's done. |
there are some haters but that car is sick. he sold it pretty cheap too considering all the work done to it. nice find. put it to work

Yeah dude, that car is sick. It's good to go at a really good price. Honestly, if Justin opened up a shop, I'd go to him everytime. I say that because he was there for me when my FC was down and I totally trust and thank him for that.
|
isn't he with srmotorcars? or atleast works for them. but yeah that set up sounds pretty detailed for your car... +1 for being broke. i just want to track mine next month but... you have to have coilovers to set up proper ride height esp with that kit and rims
|
Yeah, I'm just trying to gather up all my info on rim sizes and widths. In the meantime, I'm working on getting coilovers. I wish I could just slap on the JIC FLT-A2's from my protege!!!

hi, after looking these thread i have a quetion for the guys that are using 18x8'5 in the front. right now my TII has 19'' wheels but my front wheels are rubbing the shocks , mainly because the tire is a 245/35/19( the car is not on the road im testing only). but anyways i have 19x8'5 all around, i want to know how can i set this up on my car to make it have a good stance. if i lower the tire to 235/35/19 in the front it seems i have to use a spacer on front so wouldn't that make the car look a little goofy because they're the same width rims in front and on the back. it may look like the front wheels look wider than the back wheels. well anyone who can help me here it'll be apreciate it.

I.E.- you have 265/45/18 on a 9.5 a good stretch would be 235-245/45-55(depending on sidewall compound)/18 |

Gotcha. I'm not much for stretching, don't feel it's safe personally. And I didn't choose it that way, was like that when I bought it. I would have preferred 17's, but I'm not complaining. So, what would be a good size for the rim I have? I don't mind the stretch now, but when I get new tires I wouldn't mind eliminating it.
--so in my recommendation for your stretch... 215/45/z18 front 245/45/z18 rear ...hopefuly this wont look crazy and not very noticeable to the average driver (unless their from japan/vw driver/drifter) |
This is how rediculous 19's would look lol

well, yes the stretch is for looks, and can help in the drift dept(smaller contact patch[area that touches the road] ). but if your looking for grip then the stretch is only good on a super wide tire where the contact patch is greater than a stock contact patch.

I think you misread. I don't like the stretch. If anything I want wider. I do plan to drift some, but mainly grip. |
never said they didnt fit ... just look rediculous without extensive body work

Yup. As stated before, 19's would not look good on a stock body.

Sorry man, you're best bet is to ask RETed on the wheel size thread. The Official FC Wheel Fitment Thread. I'd ask the same question there. This thread is more for pictures than info... or at least that's what the title was. I was hoping that someone else would be able to chime in.

...avatars dont count, but i can imagine... ok no i cant... i needz picts but thats fun cause you get smoke off the fronts and lots of tire boogers on your mirrors. and this, but this was with the 16's. same rolling diameter as the 18s though. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23.../000_00741.jpg |

Yeah, the fender in the front is close to the tire but it works without any trouble since the front fenders are flared alittle bit, the rear is stock, no problems there either.
The offsets are: Front: +25 Rear: +30 ...but the rear are perfect |
heres a fc with the sunk face ones all around.
although they are the real nismo lmgt4's, not the rota knockoffs. 17/18 stagger. https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...S/DSC00310.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...S/IMG_6201.jpg |
Im likeing that me lad!!!

^It's a drift car, not a street car. It was built to drift in, and only drift in.
|
yeah no joke... if your personal opinion doesn't like the visual aspects of the car. his driving skills will back him up, that guy can fucking drive for damn sure.
|
Some 18s look good on a stock body and some look like ass, imo it depends on the offset, lip and how much of the rotors you're showing...
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...n/cars2003.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...n/cars2004.jpg 18x8 +38 offset 225/40 front 18x9 +38 offset 275/35 rear stock suspension, lol  |
I find it funny that people are getting insulted even though it's not even their car...
I guess all the drift bitches aren't feeling all high and mighty since all the comments aren't all positive in their favor, huh... On that last pic...I dunno how you got it to fit, cause an 8.0", +38 isn't supposed to fit with the stock suspension up front... And I thought 275's were just too tight to stuff on back... -Ted |
