just got my first 7

just got my first 7

so i got a 86 the other day its a auto it overheats hoping its something small (waterpump or something) but idk yet i got it for $650 i think it was a good deal other than overheating it looks to be in good shape i didnt like the bra so i gave it to my friend for his vert but hey just thought i would post and say hi

quick question can you do a targa top i think it would be cool

wow very clean S4 base model,

the question is when it's overheated how far past the middle of the gauge has it gone?

any overheating on these motor is BAD, most likely resulting in a rebuild so do not drive it anymore till you get it fixed.

the amount of work and money it would to make it a targa far outweighs the price of just buying a vert can be used as a targa top.

i
i really dont know i went around the block a few times befor i got the car it was getting hot but didnt overheat it overheated for the guy that i got it from and he parked it and got a new car he didnt know anything about car

well if the gauge goes more than 3/4 theres potential damage to the motor.

tranny swaps are not that easy, you'd be better off selling the car and buying a manual 7.

the gauge should sit and about 1/5 consistantly. only use maza thermostats thats usually part of the problem.

swaping to 5spd is a pain in the butt but its so worth it its hard to explain(done it twince and changed over frm a S4 to S5 5spd recently.
