Thanks, the color i got at earl schieb was called Smoked Gray Metallic. i really wanted to get Shadow Silver Metallic from the JDM FCs but this was the closest they had. all in all i think they did a pretty good job.

Most FC mirrors were painted from the factory. Are the painters retarded?

they didnt do any of the door jambs, basically just the exterior of the car. they also painted the hatch, which was pretty messed up so thats cool.

Unfortunately the 3 year warranty is pro-rated. I had a Scheib job on an FB several years ago and swore I'd never do that again. They got overspray on rubber door seals, my license tag, muffler, etc. I painted my FB myself two years ago and plan to do my FC this fall. Love those roll-on garage jobs!

Your car does look nice from the pics so I hope perhaps they did better on yours than mine in the past.

wow that sucks, theres actually some chipping. but they said they'll redo the messed up parts. i plan on taking it back after sevenstock, i figure that theres gonna be rock chips and whatnot on the way there so i might as well have em do everything at once. btw i feel like an idiot for asking this, but whats pro rated mean?

Basically as the time clock ticks, the "value" of the paint job decreases. So if you paid $1,000 bucks today for the paint job and you take it back in three years because it is flaking off or something, they'll repaint it but you might end up paying them $800 and they cover $200 (pulling some numbers out of the air but you get the drift). The longer the time period during the warranty, the less they cover on their tab. They don't explain that very much to the customer. You generally have to find out the hard way.

If you take decent care of the paint job, it should last okay, assuming they did a decent job prepping the car for paint. The quality of a paint job is tied up in the prep work.

thanks, it was supposed to be 1k plus tax but the guy "cut me a deal" haha. i guess they dont got too much business right now. and this was a pretty low end paintjob actually. im glad everyone likes it though, my car was like 4 different colors after i got into the fender bender.
