You do know that this guy threw big bucks at his car to have someone else build basically all of it, right?
He paid a lot of money to have his seats wrapped, then threw in some red bandanna on his arm rest, and you call that down and dirty?
The only problem with this thread is this: You post something on a PUBLIC forum, and then say you don't want peoples opinions. If that's the case, then why post it up at all? Just sit back, admire your own work, and enjoy.

You don't see the point because you missed it... Reread his post a few times and you might comprehend it.
And to 10yearrx7,
I see that you were looking for a splash of color for your interior, but I think you went about it the wrong way. First, that pattern is pretty gaudy, especially for the box being so big. Secondly, the red clashes with the stitching on the seat, the steering wheel and all the letters and light in the car.
I find this print about 70% better. Plus it would be a closer match to everything else.

IMO opinion, good effort, but it doesn't match anything.
It's pretty easy to cover the armrest, take that back off, remove the pad from the dor via it's screws, spray some 3M spray glue(the heavy duty one, #77 I think) on it and stretch the new stuff on. You want about a medium weight fabric. Too thin like the bandana print, and the glue will seep through. Too thick and you won't be able to screw the cover back on.
Do something black or white that matches your car. ****, Zebra would look better. The red just doesn't match anything and that's why everyone is saying it looks bad. You can't put something like that next to those nice seats.
I don't have any pics, but I covered the steering wheel center and armrest in my GTUs in black Courduroy. That was about four years ago. The steering wheel center is still perfect, but the armrest needs a little work again. I had to add extra foam padding to it and the fabric is coming out the sides a tny bit due to it's thickness.
I think you could make that look really good if you got a better fabric man.

He probably posted because he was proud of what he had done on his own. Do I think it looks great... no, but that doesn't really matter. Most people pay lots of money to get worthless cars fixed and worked on all the time why hate on him because he has the ability to pay for someone else to do the work? I just don't see the point.
And I'm not hating on him for paying someone to do work to his car. If someone would rather pay to have someone fix it, that's all their choice, and that's cool with me. It's another 7 out on the road, and not rotting away somewhere.

Possibly the OP posted this thread to share the pics and work with those that may enjoy and/or like what he did to his car. Not caring to hear what people who didnt like it had to say? Regardless of this being a public forum, you dont have to post your opinion.

I'm not saying it is mandatory to post an opinion. I am saying that no matter how much it may hurt your feelings, people ARE going to post their opinions. And some of those opinions may be harsh.
I don't see the point in posting on a public forum, then complaining about hearing opinions.

My feelings aren't hurt by those who don't like it. If you don't like it then you don't like it. I have already learned from my time on this forum that the people that talk the most trash are the ones with the busted up cars that don't run so i'm not to worried.
