how much farther does your aftermarket steering wheel stick out then stock?
I have a hook-up with nrg, but never bothered to try and get a hub/wheel/release, because i really don't want a cholo style steering wheel set up to stick way out into my face when i'm driving..
also, the steering wheel angle points up, and the farther out it is, the higher it will be.. and i don't want to be able to hang dry my clothes from the steering wheel either..
i really don't wana drive around like this inside my car
i would just leave the stock one, if it hadn't got melted and de-laminated in the california sun.. everytime i drive i get out of my car with sticky-gluey hands, and figure if i'm going to replace it i might as well take advantage of my NRG hook-up
PICS would maybe help? thanks

You have a hookup with NRG, but don't know about their slim hubs and slim quick-disconnects? With those two, and a non-dished wheel, I bet you could get farther away than the stock wheel.
Personally, I prefer a touringcar-style closeness with my steering wheel.

@robxx7, do you know how it compared to stock in inches? I think i'd be fine with at MOST an inch farther out.. but would rather have none. I might just ditch the quick release ****, since it's hardly a anti-theft device these days anyways.

I have driven my homies s13 with a deep dish and like 5 inches of hub and it was okaaay, but he had his seat slid as far back as it could go, and I had to tippy toe the clutch, and I didn't like that very much

Paired with the SLIM quick release, which is less than 2 inches tall
with a dishless wheel, or one with a small dish like a Momo MonteCarlo should put you close to stock.
This is measuring my stock S5 airbag wheel vs. the extra Momo I have.

Yes. the "slim" hub, which is FAR slimer than the momo hubs that are 4 inches tall.

i'll probably end up with a slightly concaved wheel with the slim hub, without the release..
