Dual oil coolers and a 4" thick AWR radiator is my cure for high temps....still haven't seen my temps rise above 84 degrees celcius, and that's in 100 degree weather.

No, that's not how it works. For several reasons. The most important of which is that the grade of a hardware fastener is set by the component which is rated lowest. So in this case, the captured nuts in the car/hood. As they are low grade hardware, they set the grade of the entire system. You could buy million dollar unobtanium bolts and the end result would be a connection that is only as strong as the stock bolts.

Additionally it is not the hardware that is the shear point, but the body/hood.

There is no nut inside the hood, it's actually a small plate. I haven't bothered to check the material but I would assume it is steel to prevent galvanic corrosion. The additional mass of the plate makes it much stronger then a typical nut. Nuts also don't shear, the closest you can get is stripping the threads out. Bottom line is in order for the hood to come undone from the body the fasteners holding the hood to the hinges or the hinges to the body would have to break, which is beyond unlikely.

Yes I did. CNC milled from 0.080 (2mm) aluminium, although the vents actually sit recessed 0.040" (1mm) into the hood to prevent them from being too obvious. Here is a link to a thread with a bit more info/pics

Thats as high as your water temp gets even when you apply high loads and engine speeds such as 3rd and 4th gear pulls? What is your water temp under normal driving? Stock thermostat?

Hood Riser Revival

Hey there, I see you’ve been offline for some years now, not sure if you’ll see this but I was wondering if you had any of those hood risers for sale that you made?
