Have an idea for an RX7 Store ... opinons?

I keep going b ack and forth on what I wan to do with my life. And since I'm obsessed wit hcars I'm considering opening an RX7 store. And no it wont be like "rx7store".

I want to open a shop/store that specifically specializes in late 80's early 90s sports cars. And it would be more along the lines of sales, not necessarilly repairs and rebuilds.

So say you want a pretty nice 1991 T2, but cant find it anywhere ... you would be able to find it at my store. Basically I want to run the shop so people look at it first before trying to search elsewhere for there ride.

Once its big enough I want to have an area where it can be like autotrader and I can have people list there own vehicles on the website (ex. rx7trader or supratrader etc.).

What are your thoughts?

You need to do service repairs. Thats where most of the money is made, not in sales alone.

Agreed with IanS. Repairs will bring in ALOT more. Especially with rotaries.

Not saying they break down alot... just more than normal piston motors.

Being that its a shop geared towards good condition street cars I doubt you'd get much business with FCs. Restorations along with repairs, rebuilds and performance would make a lot more sense. After a while you'd probably start getting FD business too which would be a lot more profitable.

you can try something like that out of your house, I turn some cars over now and then, but getting them locally is getting harder.

Having to travel and transport cars wont be profitable, these are not such valuable cars that it will be worth the time.

sound like you have good thoughts but a "shop" rather than "dealership" would bring more money your way..also you can get good deals on cars that need a little tlc fix em resell them...we need more custom fabrications for our cars too..hope you have nice welder tubing bender

Not to be negative BUT this would be in vain right now with the state of the economy and the fact that everyones pocket book is feeling the pain of high prices of everything everywhere.

THIS business idea could be wonderful + profitable when things start to turn around and stabilize but right now people are going to turn toward DIY to save a buck or two.
