fiberglass door panels

hey guys, i was just curious, i know several other cars, even the third gen guys have them, would anyone be down for 2nd gen door panels?
yes yes yes, i know, fc owners are cheap, but hey, some people would want them.
either for their gtu, or t2. either way, i think it would be cool.
anyone?

i have been thinking of this for awhile, they would not be very safe. but eh people would still buy them.

i might make a few after im done with my new dash and interior door panel kit. but as you said fc owners are cheap so i probably sell 4 if im lucky

I'm going for the sheet metal panels, but I would love to check out some fg panels. I'm sure I'm going to have multiple RX7s soon, so you never know.

Ya, I kbow what you meant. A couple of guys have asked about fg doors, but there is not enough demand among fc guys. For door panels, I don't know the weight saving thing. It wouldent be significant, but with fg you can do whatever you want. Either build it up and uphokster it or paint it. Up to the buyer. I'm just kinda curious if there is any kind of interest. Also, if that works out, what about fg or cf scuff panels?!?!

i dont see why they should look like the 3rd gen, i'd be happy if they were a fiberglass doorpanel with potential to dremel in a speaker/tweeter hole. if they were 3rd gen door panels, the 2nd gen arm rest wouldnt be compatible with the door panel. That's a problem for us guys w/ power windows. Same thing goes for the a/c vent as it fits flushwith the dash when you close the door.

well i would obviously use an original door panel as a mold, and from there do a door panel.
also, having t2 door panels myself, i know about everything that would need to work. also, i think i would do a vent system as well, maybe not stock, but something that would still look good.

if he makes the mold, CF is definitely an explorable option.

it is an option, but with cf being ~90$ a yard, it will not be cheap.

alright. well, for cf door panels we would need like 30 pairs interest for it to really be worth it.
