FC vs. FD

10 Attachment(s)
I'm just curious what you all think. Cause I feel like I'm one of the very few people in excistence that thinks the FC is just way sexier and way more badass than the FD. Everyone says they look better and just got the FC cause it was cheaper. But IMO I would take alot for me to wanna trade out my FC for an FD! So what do you guys think?

Here's some pics of my favorite sevens (that are similar)
Didn't ask anyone to use their photos, so don't get mad, be happy cause if I use your car than you know its one of the sickest Rx7s.... so shutup!

We'll start with stock (or close enough to)

Yeah you're probably the minority, but I'm there with you. I have an FC because I wanted one, not because it's "all" I could afford as it is often the case for others. Don't misunderstand me though, I would never slander the FD as it has obvious improvements and is superior technologically. The FD is a legend. Of course, neither would I slander the FB because it's the RX-7's roots and if not for the success of the FB, FC's would probably not exist. I like them all, just prefer the FC.

There's many reasons people like one car or another, but the FC is just me. I like a car with lines, or rounded off square I think is the approx design term. FD's are beautiful, but perhaps too seductive for me. Oh and the interior is smaller and there's no vert version. :D

Northstar 01-02-09 01:15 PM

Yeah I had an FC because it was all I could afford but after a while I completely fell in love with the FC and its styling. It changed my perspective but now I really love the FC as a classic yet desirable sports car and the FD as more of a really good looking sports car.

93rx74lyfe 01-02-09 01:15 PM

FC all the way.

/Thread

shineautoproject 01-02-09 01:16 PM

I think of the FC as being a square version of the FD and vice versa. There are times I have looked at an FC and felt it was better looking than an FD.

Supernaut 01-02-09 01:20 PM

I think FDs are better but I must say, there are some sweet and really aggressive looking FCs out there. I think a widebody FC is one of the meanest looking cars out there.

I much prefer to see a modded FC than an FD. But if we are only talking stock, FDs win.

NoPistons! 01-02-09 01:24 PM

I like them both equally.

I'm not a fan of first gens tho.

sub9lulu 01-02-09 01:28 PM

lol another one of these threads ....
its all personal preferences

waldog 01-02-09 01:45 PM

I think the FC looks better off the line. The FD isn't as mean looking off the line imo. But as for a hooked up FD, those are badass.

I like both though.

RHDturboII 01-02-09 01:56 PM

I have always been in love with fcs. I like Fds too but there is something about the fcs that clicks inside me...I could easily buy an fd here but i do not want. My friends have spirit r fds, Rz fds etc (beautiful pieces of machinery by the way) but a modded wide bodied fc is my favorite. Maybe I am of the few too... :-) Plus its the rare factor of having an fc here. For every 50 fds you see you are lucky if you see one fc.

tank060206 01-02-09 02:09 PM

i really love my fc because they are soo easy and cheap to make badass, fd on the otherhand are expensive all around. but if it was down to looks bone stock vs bone stock or fully modded vs. fully modded IMO the fd wins. sorry to be a naysayer, lol

SouthSideSlider 01-02-09 02:14 PM

FC3S>FD3S i love the look of te FC i like angles not curves. lol

it really is something that clicks, thats the reason i got mine. I honestly would like to have an FD, but my Honda friends also like only the FD and they dont really like my FC much which in turn makes me like my car even more because its so unique. But how can you guys just choose one 7 they're al beutiful cars i cant really pick one top model. Any of them in stock or modded form look drop dead gorgeous!

Greg

SouthSideSlider 01-02-09 02:45 PM

on a side note street tuned is just not far at alll juiceh's FC widebody Vert is uncomparable to any FD. lol. i'm a fanboy of juiceh's vert. ROLFcopter

Tyler [S5 FC] 01-02-09 03:15 PM

^ Thats what I'm sayin. I think Juicehs vert is the sexiest seven I have ever seen! Nothin comes close. Well D CUPS FD maybe, thats why I put them together, cause D CUPS FD is one of the sexiest FDs I've seen.... minus squeezing 245s on his wide ass wheels. (too much stretch for my liking)

NakesFC 01-02-09 03:19 PM

I have an FC cause they are badass, sexy, and true fans love them...also, I dont need an FD to pick up girls, I am very, very (my fiance is too) content with my penis size haha!

Hypertek 01-02-09 03:22 PM

FD is a great chassis, hence why alot of tuners in japan still build on the FD chassis and still develop parts for it. I expect all of you guys to say "FC fawk yeah!" cuz most of you have a fc lol

FC aftermarket development is pretty much dead... no new bodykits etc.. where as new FD kits come out all the time. They kept the FD chassis in production for like 10 years?

im sorry but go look at a stock 93 rx7 and say its not gorgeous, still one of the prettiest cars to come from japan that we can get stateside.

Timeless looks.

FC3S Murray 01-02-09 04:37 PM

Agreed! The FD is simply, the best damn looking japanese sports car from the early 90's next to the NSX.

I love my FC but when ever I pull up next to my uncles 93 red R1, my balls still drop.

Gregory Casimir 01-02-09 04:37 PM

i think we know that, its all about personal preference but like i said earlier idk how you guys can choose a favorite

Its easy... I like the FC

Kinda like sayin whats hotter; blondes or asians. It is preference, I just sometimes feel my opinion is so biased that its more like female football players vs models, and I chose the manly football players. Cause everyone thinks I'm crazy when I laugh at their face when they ask when I'm gonna "upgrade to an FD" Never bitchezz, I love the FC!

Gregory Casimir 01-02-09 04:50 PM

hahaha i like your comparison
like you i also don't see myself getting and FD to replace my FC
I've been i love with that car ever since i saw her in a super street mag in 9th grade

pistones 01-02-09 04:54 PM

i love my FC, and i just bought a MkIV supraTT because it's a little newer feeling. i don't think that FD's are "better" looking since it's totally different looking. But i don't want to part with my track toy, the FC is cheaper to make just as fast as an FD, and I love 80's cars.

True... Over time they look better than teh 300zx *it looks dated now*, held its value bettter than the Z *even tho the 300zx is one of my favorite cars when i was growing up*, and i think is a better value than the supras which are valued overpriced in my opinion

need RX7 01-02-09 05:23 PM

I love FDs, but it's still FC all the way.

Red95FD 01-02-09 05:32 PM

I have one of each and I like looking at both of them. The FD is a good example of making a great car better. The FD feels better driving it versus the FC but that is technology talking. I get just as many looks and compliments with both cars. I cannot choose between the two. It's like, Which one of your kids do you love more? I love them equally.

Battle Cat 01-02-09 06:26 PM

^^ i aggree. i love both of them Very much

It may be pure sex, but your car is ecstasy. FC FTW.

I am 100% fc.........fuck fd (only because i cant afford one) :)

john ny

bl00dlust 01-02-09 09:25 PM

i like both but i'd rather have my fc

Boosted11 01-02-09 09:31 PM

The fc is nonetheless very sexy, but the fd is even sexier. It would be a toss up between the two for me. I would prefer to have both. :)

:werd: At that point, might as well throw in a 1st gen too. They are all equally sexy to me. :icon_tup:

it depends if u like body lines or curves. you have to expect the FD to come better than the FC but if they came with the same engines id choose my FC. but the 13b-rew tt is sexy

 :peace:

I will own my uncles FD soon so....I guess I like both. I am sure the FD will grow on me more BUT not as near as long as it took the FC to. Honestly, when my cousin owned my fc I thought it was just OK. Nothing fancy, I thought it resembled a Dodge Daytona:wallbash:)I HATE people that say that now). It was the engine, power and it's unique and rare platform that sold me.

Furb 01-03-09 03:33 AM

stock vs stock... FD wins by a mile IMO

but i think i can say i have built an FC that can kick FD ass and turn a lot of heads!
http://94.100.113.47/238950001-23900...50_5_4JmD.jpeg

FD is also a little played out, and FC's just keep getting rare...

but to be honest if my FC keeps on living, then i will never change!
if ever i should have to part ways with my car or it gets stolen/wrecked...

i still wont get an FD, but also no FC...
then i go oldskool like rx2/3, 818 or something like that, with 13B-RE or 20B

RXTT 01-03-09 03:44 AM

At first I liked only FDs but now I like both FD and FC. I own an FC and its a pretty nice car. As for the FBs well not so much

SpideyFan6010 01-03-09 04:13 AM

FC Love

I love all 7's but the FC is like the middle child that gets no attention sometimes. It doesn't have the prestige of an FD and it is not the original. With that being said I give my FC all the attention she wants, and most of my money.

rksti89 01-03-09 04:29 AM

its hard for me to say......but im gonna go with fc.

when it comes to looks the fd sure is sex on wheels. stock or lightly modded body thats dropped both ways is a definite win, but thats the only way i like fds visually.

fcs on the other hand looks sexy stock dropped, added lip dropped, turbo 2 sides and lip dropped and every which way you can think of modded and dropped for looks.

i've never driven an fd but i've sat in my friends fd and yeah its comfortable and snug but its too luxurious(leather interior) of a sports car for me.

if i owned both an fc and fd. the fc is my everything car while my fd is my special occasion car for like a night on the town or long road trips type of thing.

Hypertek 01-03-09 04:34 AM

but FD will get love from non-rx7 knowing people because it looks great....

FC i would think people will generally think its some old random car with a unreliable motor lol

Mutaku 01-03-09 04:37 AM

I used to love the FD, the first time I drove one I fell in love. However, there is just something about the FC, as an overall package that I just love. Still love the FD but the FC is by far my favorite car.

rx7fan1903 01-03-09 11:24 AM

FDs perform better, but I think that FCs are waaaay cooler looking!

KhanArtisT 01-03-09 12:18 PM

Alot of the reactions you get from average people depends on the area you live in I think. In northern VA no one even knew what the hell an RX7 was, now in FL I pull up on drive thrus and usually get something along the lines of "is that a 13B? Carb?"

I think both cars are sick. I personally find FCs more interesting because it keeps the old school Japanese car image vs. the FD which just looks like a modern car. I also feel good about telling people I bought the car for $3000 and built it to inspire people that are drooling over it, also keeps me from being stereotyped as a daddy's boy when people see I'm in school.

revox7 01-03-09 12:19 PM

well i love them both the same although i must admit that i drive my fc alot more than i drive the FD not cuz i want to preserve the FD but because i love the FCs curves and styling but then again the FD isnt left behind in styling to me they are both beautiful cars that mazda produced for us to enjoy

MaczPayne 01-03-09 12:56 PM

Not ready to commit to an FD yet. Maybe when I graduate!

Jalm 01-03-09 01:16 PM

come on its obvious the FD vs FC stock for stock SHOULD be all in favor for the FD what company would ever make a new gen car that was worse than the gen b4 it? but i feel what spideyfan said that the FC is the middle child. people can tell the FD out of a crowd but unless people knew the FC they probably wouldnt even pass it for a 7 because all they knew was the FD. i personally love my FC she gets my attn. now what really makes me irritated is the new rx8 owners that have no idea what their driving just that its mazda's sports car but that's an entirety in itself.

rotary84autox 01-03-09 01:45 PM

I prefer the FC, I absolutly love the efni FC and that is a car i hope to own one day. Though i have to say a mildly modded FD is pure seduction, but im not a fan of them when they get more wild in the body mods, though there are quite a few widebody FC's that i love.

Ummm, lots of manufacturers have accomplished this amazing feat! Not saying mazda did though. The FD is Hot!

That widebody FC is too damn wide! Who the fuck would do that to an FC anyway!? :suspect:

cough nissan cough lol.. the 240sx and the Z.. 89-94 240sx just as good as the 95-98, or the 95-98 just wasnt really any improvement, just a different bodystyle and same drivetrain/suspension basically carried over. with teh Zs , some of the older ones are more disarable lol
