exhaust loudness issues...

ok so i got sick of my exhaust having clogged cats and a cracked main cat so i decided to pull the custom exhaust off my parts car...i basically first put on the straight pipe that connects from the manifold to test pipe and wow rotaries are real effing loud. i thought it was just loud but not this loud...

so i put the rest of the exhaust which is just 2.5 straight pipe with flanges to replace a test pipe with a highflow and its finished off with an apex n1 which is the 80mm. its still loud as hell and i dont wan to get a ticket so if i slap the highflow on how much quieter will it be or should i just get some silencer after my cat/test pipe area?

If you're just running a single can it's going to be loud. Putting back the Y-pipe and stock mufflers would quiet it down a lot. I'm not sure what you are running, but I have my 3 stock cats going into a single and it's still pretty loud. I've wanted to go back to the stock setup or a RB catback when I can get some cash just to quiet it down a bit and get the ricers off my butt.

ok here are some pics. I got a pic of my highflow cat, my apex tip and a pic of my test pipe under my car. the test pipe directly bolts off and my cat goes right in.

if you ran a sprial-flo from moroso instead of a test pipe it will lower the Db a little (i ran this set up with rb header and a apex n1 and a cat and it was around the limit)

well the silencer im looking into closes to silence in low rpm then when your rip it at about 3k or higher it opens up to let more air flow causing you exhaust to get loud again im thinking that so i can quiet it up around cops....

im not sure i think i might be the second owner but my friend evan put it through two or three cars i think because it has alot of broken off hanger welds lol well not enough to cause it to leak. just looks tacky if you can spot them haha

since we're on the topic of loudness, how loud would a straight pipe to a borla exhaust be?

LOUD!!! bassically have just a straight pipe on your car and see how loud it is and then you can figure out how loud it will still be with the borla because it only muffles it some. not enough to be street legal if im correct.

in fact mines been getting quieter but i think its the gasqet thats leaking were i bolt my exhaust up to my headers/manifold (what ever it is that bolts up to the housing) i should probably get it fixed....ehh maybe later haha
