good thread by the way, i appreciate you taking the time to photograph everything... bodywork isnt too hard, just very time consuming. Have you checked out http://fiberglassforums.com/ yet? pretty informative site you should post this thread up there etc, might help encourage some peeps to take on thier jobs etc. Its good to see DIY stuff, thats what these forums are all about.

OK i got to work early this morning i got a lot done,
i was missing a little fiberhair so i got that this morning , the fiberhai by bondo was used to patch up the holes from behind the fender so when do a light coat of bondo on the front it will cover completely and not pop out in the future,

Remember that ugly fender watch it get pretty

mocking the sideskirts and marking what needs to be cut so they can sit as flush as oem ones do

TOP SECRET MODIFICATION- how about a gp sports rear apron skirts , i will work on these after the car is done , these are not a priority but they will be made to fit the oem s5 bumper so if i bail on them in the future i can always sale em

Rear bumper fit like a glove yesssssss

just a side pic of what i am about to work next...the rear mold on the bumper came off easy too, it was molded perfectly no screws same trick with the window glue

I got a pm from a local friend, asking why i dont have a breather well i do and i wear it....sometimes only when i deal with fibergladd dust, most of the time i hold my breath so i am using it

DINGS 101- someone asked me to show a step by step on fixing dings, because they are so small sometie you cant get them from the inside to pop them out so this is what you do. First what i do is a tap it in with a ping hammer just a little to where you can see a bit of paint chip in

Now that you made the " bondo crater" lol , sand that area, say for every 1" of ding sand a minimum 3" area, Now you can see how deep and how much bondo you will need, here all i would put is maybe a quarter size dab of bondo

SIDE SKIRTS-part 2- well they are starting to get there, these are a bit challenging because i also have to work the inside of the skirts so i can get them to sit as flush as possible on the body

That hole will be fiberglassed from the inside to match the body , and the edges will be more round on the skirts, they are getting there tho

Just a mock up after trimming and grinding the inside of the skirts and look how nice they flow with the body, not like before how the gp sports kit is all boxy

here the passenger side i would say as of now they are about 1/2 inch more popped out than the driver side than i am doing and when i finish it will be about an inch

I am also trimming the skirt on the corners to flow a bit skinny on the inside , no point of having all that fiberglass on the inside all it does is creat problems for me in the future like rock chips and paint flaking

Remember that ugly rear quarter look at it takeing shape also look at the fitment of the bumper SWEEEET

Front fender is done, MAZDA's super cool fender curve done, sprayed a bit of primer just because theres a bit of metal showing on some of the areas, i will sand it off when i get ready to primer the car with laquer primer

Left front fender DONE!

under the rocker panel has a couple of dents that need to be pulled so i will have to raise the car high enough so i can use my puller, but i worked the sides and the door sills they are 75% done

rear bumper fitment, man i am so happy it lines up , thats less time i have to spend on the rear

Rear bumper looks to be repaired at some point , it was kinda rough so i brought it down with a DA 180grit so i can slap a thin skim of bondo

Thats all for today it was a short day , tomorrow i am shooting to reach the sideskirts of the other side, Thanks for looking and reading guys, keep up with my updates . LOOK AT MY DRIFT TIGER CHARM YOOO
Alex

Neat man, it's coming along alright. So your gonna have stock front and rear with the custom side skirts??

I'm very interested in learning bodywork and just got the hang of basic bondo and fiberglass, would love to try something like this one day. What kind of paint gun do you use for your projects?

ok update time...ITS DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went with cheaper grade of paint and i must say i am freaking happy as crap. I went with a new company they only been around for about a year. The companies name is WANDA paints. I used 2 of there quarts of reducer also. I mixed the base on 2: 1 ratio. For the bumpers and trim parts i used Bulldog adhesive promoter. All in the end i paid $210 for 1 gallon of base, 2 quarts of reducer, 1 gallon of clear, 1 quart of activator , and 1 can of bulldog. Not bad for a street/track car where i will be trashing it.

I been very busy this week so i am happy that i got it done in time. let the pics show for them self.
