Aircraft paint stripper will take paint off like nobodys business. Just have to be careful spraying it on, make sure you only get it where you want it. Also, be in a well ventilated area.. the fumes will jack your day up.

It would save a lot of time and headache to simply take them and have them mediablasted. I have never had a good experience with aircraft paint stripper. I've used spray and paint on various things and it always seems to create more problems than it solves. I used the paint on with my CV lips. I masked off the mesh because my paint was in great shape. My intention was to simply polish the lips and leave the mesh alone. Aircraft paint stripper did not take the factory paint off the lips. It softened it quite a bit but it still required all kinds of scrapping and sanding to get it off. It also formed in the little tiny lip where mesh meets lip and I have yet to get it all out of that lip.

I guess it really does depend on the paint, primer composition. When I used spray aircraft remover, sprayed, then waited a couple minutes and wiped it off with cardboard. The paint flaked up and came right off. Now in some areas where I didn't spray as much, it took a second coat. I didn't have to touch them with sandpaper.
Idk it was factory paint as well. Maybe Toyota doesn't lay the paint on as thick lol

I'm thinking of running 205/50/16 up front and 215/45/16 in the back for that little bit more tire in the back. Not like I'm running a ton of power with my stock N/A but I like a wider tire. Wish I could go 255+ but I'm broke and can't afford expensive wheels.
Is that a stupid idea or just go 205/50/16 all around.

215/45 is perfect all around. But 205/50 is easier, and would require less work.

probably the 50. I also find a 205/55 is too tall for a 16" rim. Makes the rim look smaller than it actually is aha.
I guess ill go 205 all around since I want to do the least amount of work possible to fit the fronts after I have coilovers. I wish I didnt have to do any rolling, but oh well.

So this is the info I'm getting off you guys.
"Lacey Spoke" aka webbed BBS look alike rims are cast aluminum and come in a variety of sizes 15x6.5, etc etc. But the one that looks closer to the ones you guys have is a 16x7 rims with the emphasis on the +6 offset pair and not the +30 offset (cause from what I can tell, there are 2 types of crown victoria/grand marquis rims). There are also two style that have been nicknamed single step (cause the lip obviously looks like a single step) and a double step lip as well.
And if you want these rims on the rx7 without too much modifications you will need a 5mm spacer up front only (to clear the front calipers) and will possibly need fenders rolled if you like to sit low or even have complete adjustable coilovers.
A decent tire size would be 205/50/R16 all around. I've also seen this as well and this will probably be the way I would do it (205/40/16 for the front tires and 225/45/16 for the rear tires).
And these makes/models carry the same model rims with slight variations depending on year:
- Mercury Grand Marquis = 1993-2002 (star shaped center that disrupts the web design)
- Ford Crown Victoria = 1993-2002 (star shaped center that disrupts the web design)
Lincoln Mark VII = 1990-1992 (star shaped center that blends in with the webbed design/has "m" arcs)
what size tires? and by the way, those are ****** sexy

-and speaking of which-
I just got a set of Lincoln "LSC" Mark VII rims not too long about (week ago) for about $160.00 at Nordstrom Auto and they look like the single step....IDK. I live close by to them...and to my surprise they had an 1988 GXL in the "Ewe Pull It" lot (they spell the "You" like "Ewe", and you pay a small walk in charge $2.00 and you bring your own tools to take apart the car and get what you want). The also have a booklet that states all of the base charges...seats = $26, mirrors = $6.00, etc etc. I was in there and saw that GXL and the original owner must have put in GTU seats in it before junking it off, I went and got the seats out, interior trim pieces, oil cooler, GTU mirrors and CAS/trailing coil and leading coil packs all for under $100.00. Ill post some pics of the rims on Tuesday.
