Just bedded brakes, I can't figure out the idle though. It's my thermowax I guarantee it. No time to take apart my intake though. I suppose I'll order new gaskets and make a weekend out of it.

**** that, I'm way too lazy to remove my entire god damned intake to fix something that wasn't broken before.
I think timing is my problem (did some searching). I have a timing light, but no marks on my pulleys. Probably because I removed the AC and PS pulley and all I have is the double pulley that goes to the air pump and alternator.
It's even though, like 1300-1500, vroom vroom vroom vrrom vrrom Very, VERY consistant hunting. Surging, seeking, whatever the **** you want to call it I'm annoyed. I just put my fan shroud back on, TweakGames promised to source me an underbelly shroud, so I'm happy!
My coolant hasn't completely burped yet, whenever I take a left turn, my add coolant light comes on, but if I turn right it goes away until I turn left again. It's so awkward. I'll try topping it off and hope that fixes it. Other than that I can't find ANY leaks. After driving about 150 miles (really ******* hard miles, btw) I haven't gotten it to leak.
I started building a list of things to buy for my turbo swap. I'll collect over the winter and start the build when the snow starts melting.

Thursday night, the car started steaming like crazy, and it ate coolant like a ****.
I'll do a teardown tomorrow to determine what happened.
I think I blew a rad hose. Not sure though.
I'm annoyed.

when you put coolant in the first time, did you keep the rad cap open?
well wait, i just read that your coolant system is not preasurized? to my understanding, when your doing coolant system work, your supposed to top it up, let it run to Normal operating temputure, then add coolant as needed to replace the air.
hope that helps.
nice build btw! how is the clearance with the shocks and springs?

I haven't had the time to do them yet, actually. I'll definitely post detailed pics when I get the suspension on.
Yes, when I put everything back together, I bled off as much air as I could with the engine on and it warmed up. It worked fine, actually, I drove about 150 miles, hard miles, and it worked perfectly fine. With me just topping it off occasionally. I have no leaks anywhere.
Like i said, I'm positive it's the lower rad hose. The more I think about it the more it just seems like it. I'll update tomorrow mid-afternoon to late-evening.

So, it turns out, the coolant system is over pressurizing (probably from blown seals) and after a little while, a bit of water sprays out the overflow nozzle, which in turn gets on my radiator, and then evaporates.
That's the source of my mysterious smoking, and I essentially have to top it off (about 4-5oz) every morning and it's good.
I received an engine from a friend that I intend on rebuilding, boosting, and swapping in before this becomes a large issue.

HI! jmkogut, great build up. Thanks for the kudos on my F/S RX7,,
(TX nice RX7 T2 custom) you will have 10 times the money in it than you can get for it!! what a shame, thats where im at! FYI im an old timer with cars ,50yrs and more, my work is experianced and professional. and if you have not driven an RX7 turbo, you will never belive the difference in performance, especially one with a 3rd gen single turbo,TOTALLY AMAZING. like a race from 0 to 100mph and back to 0, before the N/A would reach 100. You should buy mine!! Thx Ron

Thanks guys ![Big Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The engine has about 180k on it, and I don't think it'll last much more than 185k if that.
I own a decent NA engine that was rebuilt by a local builder but I plan on tearing it down over the summer and running a stock turbo when it's all said and done.
I haven't updated this thread in a while because, quite frankly, I HATE working on my car in the winter. I didn't even drive it when it was snowing out, but now that everything has melted I've started DD'ing her again and I have much more in store. A good amount of my money is going towards paying off a loan and I'll be finished in early April. At that point in time, I'll have a lot of extra cash flow for this build. In the meantime, I'm just relaxing ^_^
