The Build Begins. My 86 Project In The Making

This is what im starting off with. I decided why wait till I get the motor to start building when i can do everything else with time and patience instead of rushing it once the motor comes through. This is my Build Diary. Also decided to buy a camera to document the build since cell phone pics dont do justice.

The Car 86 Sport RX-7

Interior

Rust spot not perforated just surface

Rust spot on door is a little deeper.

Im going to start off bye throwing the cables for the battery and doing all the relays for the ignition, fuel pump, E-fan, and wiring the coils. Basically do all of the electrical work that needs to be done minus the actual engine related stuff like injectors and CAS. Any Ideas or suggestions during the build will be greatly appreciated.

May The Force Be With Me ! ! !

What do you guys recommend to coat the floor? There is some areas the factory sound deadening is chipped up and i want to coat it with something to prevent rust that i could just coat the whole floor with.

Thanks

that is only a little chip of the iceberg that is my creativity the fan is obviously to help cool the LT-10s I also am going to open up a couple holes on the inside panel to promote air flow. You guys sit back and enjoy the marvel that is my wiring.

For the rust, use POR-15. Then overcoat with a truck bed liner or use Dynamat (or whatever other sound deadening you can get locally).

You should modify that water pipe into a coolant recovery bottle. That would be cool.

BDC is going to do the porting and Lopez racing in miami is going to build it im going to be using a 13B-re. I had already bought one june last year but had to send it back because the motor came full of water I lost $160 in shipping but at least i got the $1600 back from the motor purchase. Im going to source a motor from "japan2la" he says his motors are compression checked to be at least 100 psi on each rotor so... hope i source a good motor this time.

I second the idea of the coolant recovery bottle. This should be a good build to watch, I'm interested to see how you do all your wiring for the car.

What turbo do you plan on using and what do you plan to do with the car once it's built. Good luck to you.

The Car is going to be a Sick Street Car for the most part. Not a daily driver but definitely a car i can drive around once in a while and take it to the strip. I am more than definitely going to go with a GT-40 or maybe a T04Z not sure on which but leaning to the GT-4088R. if i can get 400 whp on pump with the W/I kit im going to be happy. im going to be doing a half bridge set up on the 13b-re i have been told it wont be necessary to do a half bridge for 400 WHP but i want to be able to make higher numbers at higher boost later on.

The wiring begins! ! ! Mounted remote battery posts ran primary wires which i think im going to change location since i dont like the red wire running along the back of the engine bay. And wired in the main fuse box.

The Battery temporarily in its spot.

And GOD Said Let There Be Light ! ! !

So far so good ! ! !
