Best $75 I have ever spent...
Best $75 I have ever spent...

The tires are shot/crap, but I am going to be putting the tires that are on my current wheels on these. In the third picture, you can see some curb rash on the right side, but besides that, a little dirt, and two missing center caps they are in great condition. What do you guys think?
They were on Craigslist. A guy in NE Philly has a turbo swap vert project and is putting bigger wheels on it.
There are usually center caps on Ebay for $30-$45, and there is a guy in the B/S/T section that has them for $35 each. They're a little expansive, but I don't think they're that hard to find.
I'll get more pictures once I'm done cleaning and polishing them up a little.

You're talking about the wheels, right? I've seen them sell for as much as $400 with tires. I don't think there is a problem with finding them, I think the problem is finding them somewhere close so you're not paying $80/wheel to have them shipped.
If you're talking about the caps... I have seen a set of caps plus the removal tool sell for $100, so they're not that expensive.

yeh that is a pretty good find. i bought an mx6 for 400. came with god awful wheels from american racing so traded them for a set of vert wheels and got a $100.
but none the less a sicj deal at that.

Yep. It's growing on me, but I'm not too cazy about it. And I'm getting coilovers after I do a depowered steering rack, sway bars w/ endlinks, and bushings.
Thanks. The tires are amazing. They have really good grip on dry pavement, and I even autocrossed in the rain and didn't slide out once. The only problem is they only come in a 195/50 for 15's. But people say that they run wide for a 195, and they don't get greasy when they get hot like the Azenis, which was my other choice in tires. So I think I'll be runing these for a little while.
Thank you for all the compliments. Unfortunately, I slid the car and hit a pole at about 25 mph and damaged my driver's side quarter panel, bumper, hood and headlight. It's not as nice looking anymore... I also bent something in the suspension so the car is not very driveable. But right now I'm stripping out the interior and I'm going to get the car driving so i can keep racing it. Then I'm going to have all the body work and paint done. Here are some pictures of the damage:

Yeah, tell me about it. But nothing big got damaged so it's not totaled or anything. And besides a few cuts on my knuckles which I have no idea how I got them, I didn't get hurt at all. I was driving a backroad and I guess wasn't paying a whole lot of attention. My back right tire hit some dirt and spun the car, and I counter-steered too much and hit the pole probably between 20 and 25 mph. I drove the car home which took me maybe two minutes going 30, and it's now sitting up the street waiting to have the front of the interior removed.
Ouch, I've been there though it sucks. Driving fast on a backroad requires a LOT of concentration...knowing the road like the back of your hand is key. After a deer incident I always scoped backroads for any road hazards like debris, wildlife (alive or dead), road surface, etc. Good luck with getting it back on the road, shouldn't be too hard.
The funny thing is I wasn't even pushing the car really hard. I'm not going to lie, I was going faster than the speed limit, but i have comfortably gone faster around that turn. I guess the slide just took me by surprise because i wasn't expecting it.
Getting it back on the road isn't going to be hard, but it's going to cost money that I don't really have considering I have a loan out from a friend for buying the car, another loan through my bank for a motor rebuild, a new loan out for the '01 Escort I picked up from a friend's dealership, and I picked up my insurance from my parents. Plus the fact that I work 25 miles from home doesn't really help with the rising gas prices. But hopefully it won't be too long before I can get driving again. And I can kill two birds with one stone by upgrading everything that I can while I'm in threre.

Well worth it for verts, considering how much of an improvement it can offer looks-wise.

. I don't really like them so they're going to go as soon as I can afford something better.
