That's unfortunate. Another FC gone to waste.

Verts can be stripped to be made lighter than a stripped coupe.

if you made something like this it would be best to just make boat with a FC upper half shaped fiberglass body. making an amphibious car is quite dificult to do right. most that have "worked" are slow light small and have many rust problems.

Well, my goal is not really to make a boat that looks like an FC, what I build will probably not look a whole lot like an FC when I'm done anyway.... My real goal is to make an amphibious car, and I think an FC vert would be a good starting platform.

And I am not aiming at building a sweet racecar, or the baddest boat on the lake.... but I do expect that it will be the best combination possible ;-)

not necessarily, if my motor blows its getting a 302 in it.
but the point is...its gonna cost an unreal amount of money to do something thats more fun in a boat anyway.

Well, your 302 swap is going to cost an unreal amount of money if its going to be any faster than my rotary.

what do you categorize as unreal. i already have the motor and tranny, came out of my track car. 302, trickflow tw heads, cam, prfmer rpm intake, holley 670 carb, and rebuilt t5 trans ready to go in, and would consider hooking up the squeeze to it. wrecked the fox but drivetrain's still good.
i like the t2 and the feel of boost, but there's nothing quite like power on demand

the amphibious thing is just a little too much though

haha, ok. To each their own.
Right now I'm not really worried about weather or not it's possible, I'm more concerned with how easily it can be done vs. how well it will work.

i think that compared to some, an rx7 could be converted relatively easily.
i personally think it would be a pain to figure out a way to make it work

you said it wouldn't look much like a car when you were done so why don't you get an old boat with no engine and buy an atkins marine engine. then you can figure out how to put a fc chassis on the bottom of the boat and there you go. imho if amphibious cars were a good idea then more car manufacturers would try to make them. not just ford and a couple others. which by the way failed miserably.
