I happen to like my FC either way.

This thread will end up being a beating of a dead horse. So I'm not bothering posting my opinion.

Agreed, it's a car nothing more nothing less. Is it ugly..hell yes, but alot of us have ridden something ugly just cause it/they looked fun.

I'm feeling better now Let's see.....

Well - to some people anyway. I've put more time, energy and pain into my cars than anything else in my life. So ya know - I get kinda attached ^_-
Ugly body kits? Slammed? etc.. I just go "blah, looks bad/anti-functional" - but it doesn't fundamentally change what the car is.. Like some things..

If you live your car-life black and white, number by number. Yes you can haz more powas from a V8 for similar weight [until the 16X anyway..... XD] - it's just that I don't live that way, and I don't like cars to be treated as "nothing more, but something less" [Yes that's not exactly what you typed, but that's the implication of a V8 swap] ..even my poor beatup old Nissan Pulsar NX I loved for what it was. [1.6L, computer speakers+inverter+iPod, T-tops, 4-seater, woefully powerless]

Perhaps too it's the way my car behaves sometimes: Almost every time it acts up, I've been working on another car of mine - it's like it's crying for attention by breaking something on itself. I am fairly convinced that it really has some sort of jealousy.. It's like a living thing, like a kid.. It drinks gas, needs its oil changed, it spits coolant when it doesn't like it, it craps out the exhaust, and it runs around - sings when it's happy. It doesn't need a heart transplant to be happy - I love it for what it is. I doubt your parents told the doctor to rip out your heart to put a high speed pump in, and shoot you full of steroids.

I can't change your actions, I can only try to influence them.. "Why do you need a V8 swap?" "Why can't you build a rotary?" "Why not get a Supra?" etc..

btw, the Supra thing... They're very similar looking - there's even that old body kit that makes the FC look exactly like a Supra on the front.. Is there something fundamentally wrong with that car too? It seems like it would be easier to do a V8 swap on that... Piston-Piston.. Or A different straight-6+turbo[s]..

Most v-8 swaps are for more power. Can you make power out of the rotory? Sure. But parts are harder to find, cost way more, and well, that 454 has a way higher hp starting point. Guy could probably put a lot more hp to it now, whereas for you go get over 500hp on a rotory, very tough, without tons and tons of cash.
Not to mention that 454 is a lot more reliable with its high hp.

Would I drive it, **** yea, would I say its a beauty, nope, I love my rotory, I wouldn't mind having that 454 7 sitting next to my stock 7 in my driveway anyday. One track/fun car, one original 7 too... Best of both worlds with 2, 7's

Bet my neighbors would love to hear that beast starting everyday at 6am LOL.

I think that a guy that loves the track, would like the power to weight ratio option, hence why putting that huge motor in that feather of a car.
I wouldn't mind seeing that same motor in a nice chevy, but hey that power/weight ration could never be duplicated with no big camero, or the likes....

I wouldn't mind seeing that swapped 7 take a run down the stripe against a likewise camero with that same motor.........

I wouldnt do it if I only had that 1 7 though.

it doesn't matter what car you put that engine in! an all IRON big block plus the IRON transmission probably doubles the weight of the car.

or when you drop a 1500lbs drivetrain into ANY car its going to be heavy..... that Fc is probably pushing 4000lbs!

Gonna have to disagree here. 99% of v8 swaps tend to the cause the owner can't build or tune a rotary properly. They get the swap kit, toss some basic bolt-ons and that's as far as it generally goes.

Not my choice of engine but if I was to ever get another rx7 (been years) the rotary would most likely be the first to go haha. Nothing against them cause they were fun, but I have my ideas.

You do when you visit the track. I like my track cars to still be streetable/legal. Not that I have one now, sold it for a family mover lol.. Dunno if this one is though.

But 7500 is way to high a price tag anywhow.

Don't get me wrong, if I had a choice between a highly modified rotory, that had good hp numbers, and this car, it would be the rotory.
Please don't get me wrong I love the rotory and it being different.

I only posted it due to it not being a 350 swap and being a bit different with the choice of the engine swap.
