1991 Purchase Advice: FC Value?
1991 Purchase Advice: FC Value?
I'm new to the site, and wasn't sure where a question like this should go, so I'll give this section a shot.
I wanted to get some advice around the value of an FC I'm looking at. It's a 91 TurboII, white, 76k, all original, Sunroof option, all electrical checks out; near perfect condition. He's asking just under 6k for it. Is this car worth it?
I've tried to use KBB and NADA and they don't really cover this far back. NADA covers classic cars...and produces an average price of 4,900.
There isn't a whole lot else out there to compare it to...and this is the reason for this thread.
Thanks.

Very nice looking TII. It's been a while since I've seen one so clean, especially a white one.

As described and pictures, yes. But you should get a compression check at the least before buying. You want north of 90 lbs per rotor side front and rear at the least. Also, check the coolant jug and area around it to see if it's been overflowing.

I sold my '87 for $5,000 in 2009, but it was in pristine condition and fresh JSpec dropped in. Even had the original factory window sticker.
If the engine checks out, $6,000 would be a pretty fair price since it looks to be in really really good cosmetic condition.

if my Rx8 selling experience is like this car, i'm sure the seller had had plenty of interest and offers to trade, but if you show up with cash, you'll be the first and only one
The people selling the car were less than responsive over the weekend and Yesterday. Finally, I got in touch with the seller this morning to find out that he sold the car yesterday. Oh well...
