Work in progress

So I got this 88 from a coworker that was moving and couldn't take it with him. He was about to junk it so I took it off his hands for $1. Couldn't pass it up. Now that I have it, it definitely needs some TLC. It is a UK RSD model so finding some things are proving more difficult than others. One of the first things I wanted to fix was the tail lights. Both right and left were in bad shape with cracks and discoloring. I decided to get some S5 tails and found a set for a decent price. Low and behold, the S5 tails for a Japan or US model are different than the UK model because of the different size license plates. Now I'm at a crossroad of: Do I try to find the UK S5 tails and trade or sell the ones i have or do i get the cutoff wheel out and trim the car to fit the tail I have on hand. Anyone else run into this issue?

Man get that cutoff out . Just make it clean . And make sure the gaskets seal against the body . May have to get extra weather strip . I had to use a hammer to make my s5 vert tails fit my US 87 s4 Se Coupe lol make it happen captain 🍻

Thanks for the info broham. It won't take much to pattern and cut the spots out. Then get a US license plate bracket..or maybe trim the UK one to fit as well. Well, it looks like I have an interesting weekend ahead of me. I'll post some pics as I work through this. Thanks again.
