called mazda ( in canada) and apparantly no warehouses in north america have replacement thermostat / gasket for a 1989 NA. Where are people getting these and are they same as OEM ?

 

My current one is a stant from Rockauto.com. Unfortunately they no longer have it. There is a Gates Oe type that looks correct and a Motorad OE type as well. Looks like they have the gasket as well.1989 MAZDA RX-7 1.3L R2 Thermostat | RockAuto

I bought years ago a "Failsafe" brand thermostat made in Australia. If and when it fails, it fails only in the open position! How good is that, I bought 2 and just put the unused one in my new replacement engine.

If you have trouble finding just a gasket, cut your own or use RTV sealent. Just don't over tighten the two bolts!

 

Whats the oe temperature thermostat? I have a stock na s5 ?
