Is it possible to swap the Radio with the Logicon?
I know that this is an insanely basic question, but I've gotten my car running well, and am turning my attention to the interior and creature comforts (I have a street car).
I am looking at replacing the OEM stereo with a modern touchscreen, and came across head units with Apple Carplay / Android Auto, with the GPS screen. I thought it would be a lot easier to use those if the screen was closer to eye level - with the Logicon HVAC controls mounted below that, like on most modern cars.
is this possible? What kind of fabrication would i need? I have an S5, if that matters.
Thank you!

i think the biggest trouble will be mounting it, i've seen things moved around, but there is a slight size mismatch, and that might be the hard part.
i've also seen the guts of the logicon separated from the face, and if one really wanted to go nuts, the face is just two potentiometers and the buttons, later cars use ***** instead of sliders...

Moving the logicon down to the bottom of the radio space is pretty easy... modifying the center panel for what goes in the logicon space after is the tedious/time consuming hard part. Basically I used 1/8 inch rubber pads on the bottom of the logicon and it sits on the plastic radio tray. Bent .some "L" brackets out of aluminum sheet and used 3m mounting tape to secure it on the top of the logicon .L brackets are screwed into the side radio dash plastic.I fits perfectly in the bottom radio opening.you have to also cut/trim the logicon stock mounting tabs to go into the space about 10mm on each side.
