Oil leak from filter

Okay so I recenty noticed my 1986 gx had an oil leak. Upon further searching I realized it was coming from where the filter connects to the filter stand. So I replaced the filter and cleaned everything up and now it's still leaking. BUT ON TOP OF THAT I'm getting just above zero oil pressure at idle. It never used to be like this with the car. Also I replaced the plugs and wires to try and stop a misfire but It didn't work. Any suggestions will help a lot!!!!

Very common. There's an o-ring under the pedestal that goes bad with age.

the leak is coming from where the filter attaches to the pedestal. Unless the oil is shooting up from where the pedestal attaches the block I believe it's something to do with that

Unless:
A. You're a glutton for punishment and only buy junk filters like Fram.
B. You don't lube the sealing gasket before installation, and keep trashing the seal.
C. You are under torquing the filter.
D. You've horrifically damaged the mating surface.

My money is still on the o-ring.

Yep, replaced mine just because...

didnt want a severe leak happening from a 20+ year old o-ring
