I’m manual swapping my 89 Convertible and I decided to try and just test the starter by itself before I put the trans in. There is no sound from the car except a singular click. The fuel pump also does not stop until I turn the key off. Thank you for the help. I spliced the two thicker wires together from the connector posted above
Where on the car is the connector at? The starter solenoid should have a single spade terminal that revives positive to trigger if it’s anything like my ‘90 n/a. Normally to run the fuel pump like that for diagnostic reasons the yellow 2 pin connector by the pressure sensor on the pass. side shock tower is jumped, check that about your fuel pump.
The curved wire activates the starter when the car is in neutral/park.
I have that connected to the starter, I figured out I have to run a wire from that to my ignition cylinder to bypass the automatic only inhibitor switch
