Just changed my diff mount to a solid mount sounds like transmission mount

Just changed my diff mount to a solid mount sounds like transmission mount

Idk new to rx7 had a bad diff mount got a solid metal one now sounds like transmission mount is bad everytime I shift I hear like a clunk from below me 1 gear runs hard anyone have any ideas

That's because you have a solid mount. You are experiencing first hand what it sound like without rubber taking the blow. Now your chassis is taking the blow.

I personally like the Mazda competition mounts. If you replace one original mount you need to replace them all from front to back with similar material or you will feel the slack of the softer / worn mounts. You may even tear the new mount from excessive movement. Although you will probably not tear the aluminum one...

Im on the competition mounts with a preloaded pinion snubber, setup works well.

On a side note... I made some hockey puck mounts for my S.A. over the weekend and am very pleased. Only cost $7 for hardware and two pucks. I plan on pairing them with a Mazda comp trans mount. I don't drive it much so that will be another day.
