Ideas of what is wrong :(

Hello guys and gals,

So I have a 1989 Mazda Rx7 T2 with the first Modular M1200 installed on it.

The issue I am having now on first start up, on the same engine I used prior to the M1200 install, is that it is blowing a substantial amount of white smoke out from the downpipe, and exhaust.

My wideband has not been able to read proper air/fuel ratios given that it hasnt been able to warm up, but it ranges from what we glanced at around 12-16.

Here is what is done to the car so far to perhaps give you an idea:

1) front mount intercooler
2) smart coils
3) complete emissions blockoff
4) omp blockoff
5) protek R premix
6) 10 40 oil
7) some intake pipe
8) koyo radiator
9) leash electronics board
10) m1200 modular ecu
11) greddy comp tube
12) innovate mtxl plus wideband
13) stock 550cc injectors
14) walbro fuel pump
15) 3" downpipe to 3.5" exhaust (no cats/emission stuff)
16) tauras fan
17) custom harness
18) racing beat oil cooler lines w/ stock oil cooler
19) custom spark plug wires
20) braided delivery line for turbo

So now when we initially started it up we did not have as bad of smoke as it does now. I can crank it with the ecu disconnected and it will not smoke whatsoever.

We had the issue of keeping it running to do timing and I would need to tap the throttle to keep it running properly.

Shortly thereafter of me trying to keep it running and then buddy trying to correct timing smoke started pouring out of the engine bay and exhaust and literally filled my entire garage.

I would like to have ideas or suggestions of what it could be or what I should do to fix this issue.

The car was sitting 3-4 weeks prior to install and recent start.

Here is what I have heard it could be:
-leaky injector
-bad turbo seal
-bad coolant seal
-oil issue

I will post pics of what it looks like once my phone is done updating.

Thanks in advance.

-Nick

Only thing I know of that makes rotary engines blow white smoke is bad water jacket seals. Probably not what you wanted to hear.

That's what I was thinking at first, but we can't even get the car stable. Also, when I pulled the downpipe and turbo off there was a lot of oil in the downpipe.

i started the car without turbo and manifold on it and it shot oil out onto my passenger side engine Bay Area.

Plugs are carbony and the one thing I didn't replace as I totally blanked on buying new ones.

However, it wasn't wet per se when I removed them.

Oil coming from the manifold and downpipe when I jacked it up

if it was ok before the ECU, its probably too rich/ you have too much premix.

if you have too much premix it wont combust, and it'll just start to pool in the exhaust.

Turned out I had a hole in the front rotor

I have swapped the engine to my spare keg (s4 t2) and got it running
