Looking to repaint the center caps on my 1989 GTUs as they are a bit weathered. Has anyone had any luck with a specific silver paint that matches?

 

After some trail and error back in the 90's, came up with one that matched perfectly.
Think the spray can is still in the back garage, so when the monsoon stops here in Jersey I'll take a look.
Hopefully tomorrow.

 

Thought the spray can was with the OEM wheels and caps, but just checked, no can.
It was a general on the shelf Krylon silver spray. Actually needed to purchase 4 before I found one that was a match.
Sprayed a test panel to check match, used tape on the chrome "nuts", and the caps were as new.
The caps were in relatively good shape, so didn't need to sand or use a pre-paint primer, just cleaned first.

From what I remember it was just a silver paint, not metallic.
