I have a vert s5 1990 and the driver side door handle does not open from the outside i have to get in through the passenger and open if from the inside. i have the door panel off already just unsure of what to do. door is not locked but when you pull on handle from the outside it doesn’t pull as far as it normally would. any help would he appreciated.

 

In the absence of any other advice, oil everything, then try and exercise it gently.
Working through freeing up the latches and locks on my 87 Sport. Most of it is now actually working, which is a relief!

 

Most likely the handle itself is broken. You will need to remove it to verify. It's not too hard. Two linkages the one that operates the latch it's self being the hardest IIRC and two bolts. One bolt you access with the window up the other with it down. I think I remove the bolts first so I can move the handle to disconnect the linkage. Also one connector to disconnect and a wire to fish out if you car has the factory alarm.

 

I have a 1990 Infini III and my door handle also broke. I'm trying to take off the door handle now but not really sure how to disconnect the main linkage (the thicker bronze looking one that's treaded in). Is there a trick to disconnecting it or do I just need some long needle-nose pliers to pop the plastic clip out of the housing that's connected to the door handle? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
